Psychosocial Support Facilitator At Olive Branch

Following the earthquake in Defne, Olive Branch Organization has committed to continuing its psychosocial support activities in the region. This decision aims to support particularly adults in coping with the psychological effects of the earthquake and enhancing community well-being. Olive Branch will sustain level 2 and 3 Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) interventions, a hobby-based MHPSS approach will promote productivity and provide enjoyable practice time for positive psychological impacts. This comprehensive approach seeks to assist community members in Defne in overcoming the challenges posed by the earthquake and creatively investing their resources.
Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of MHPSS activities in collaboration with the Central Coordination Unit based in Gaziantep.
  • Compile and disseminate information on MHPSS tools and best practices.
  • Promote mental health and psychosocial well-being, and integrate MHPSS principles throughout the program.
  • Organize remote or in-person training sessions, meetings, workshops, and other relevant events.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, presentations, and other necessary documentation for targeted interventions.
  • Facilitate internal meetings to follow up on MHPSS activities, ensuring comprehensive note-taking and proper documentation.
  • Attend meetings and conferences as required.
  • Travel for duty purposes as needed.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.,

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology, Counselling Psychology, Counselling or Social Work, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant experience.

Experience:

  • Previous experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-governmental organizations, or governmental institutions in a multicultural environment is essential.

Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of social protection and mental health support in post-disaster contexts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Teams, with strong computer skills.

Languages:

  • Turkish and/or Arabic a must, English is desirable.
