Psychosocial Support Worker ( Caicara del Orinoco. Edo Bolivar ) At International Medical Corps

OBJECTIVE: Provide psychosocial support to adolescents and women in the community in the safe spaces of Women, guaranteeing the quality, confidentiality and international standards of Violence Based on gender and organization.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the establishment of safe spaces for women and girls.
  • Organization and management of periodic sessions in safe spaces for women and girls ( WGSS );
  • Lead outreach sessions to encourage women and girls to participate in WGSS activities.
  • Act as a focal point and reception point for users to the WGSS.
  • Provide guidance to users on available services and other practical information.
  • Follow up and participate in the structuring of daily activities in the center.
  • Organize group psychosocial support activities.
  • Facilitate educational empowerment sessions for women and girls.
  • In collaboration with operational teams, ensure that supplies are purchased in a timely manner;
  • Refer users to social work professionals as appropriate.
  • Support and train volunteers.
  • Facilitate monthly meetings on responsibility fronts to communities ( AAP ) with women and girls in the WGSS;
  • Maintain activity records and produce reports of the activities in their area of ​​responsibility;
  • Contribute to a positive IMC team environment.
  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and among users and collaborators.
  • Assume any other responsibility related to the activities described.

Minimum requirements:

  • College degree in social work, psychology, education, community health, gender, or other relevant studies. Desirable specialization in gender studies.
  • Work experience of at least two years with groups at risk, particularly women and girls, following the rights-based approach and gender perspective.
  • Experience in facilitating group sessions;
  • Familiarity with the services and resources available in the area of ​​implementation of activities
  • Excellent interpersonal treatment and communication.
  • Ability to work autonomously and self-motivation.
  • Active listening and Flexibility and ability to identify solutions to unforeseen events.
  • High organizational skills.

Type of contract:  Consultant initially for 3 months

Location:  Caicara del Orinoco. (Note that the organization does not cover lodging)
