Public Health Officer – Focus on Qualitative Research At Connecting Research to Development

Under the supervision of the CRD’s Lebanon Country Manager, the incumbent will:

  1. Public Health Research Tasks:
  • Conduct and lead qualitative research including research design, tool design, analysis and discussion, and generation of recommendations.
  • Coordinate programs/projects, along with assisting in ongoing program development and measurable evaluations.
  • Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence through active participation in the different components of the project/study process.
  • Contribute to writing educational/promotional literature, proposals, articles, and reports.
  • Participate in the development and translation of quantitative tools.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the CEO.
  1. Field Coordination Tasks:
  • Coordinate public health field operations by monitoring and assisting public health teams.
  • Participate in the planning process of field activities.
  • Lead and supervise fieldwork operations.
  • Lead in conducting field research in the form of focus groups, interviews, case studies, observations, and surveys, and other data collection methods.
  • Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence through continuous monitoring and management of data from the field.
  • Organize and deliver training sessions for field teams.
  • Perform data entry whenever required.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the CEO.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in public health; health promotion; community health; or any other similar field of study
  • At least 5 years of working experience in qualitative public health research;
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and organizational skills;
  • Collaborative and constructive team member;
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, multitask, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong presentation and training skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office;
  • Knowledge of qualitative analysis software is a must;
  • Examples of published research is a plus;
  • Fluency in written and oral English. Other languages pertinent to CRD’s regional areas of operation are an advantage.
