Job Overview:

The IRC’s Resettlement, Asylum, & Integration (RAI) department works to create opportunities for refugees and other vulnerable migrants to survive and thrive in the U.S. and Europe through a diverse portfolio of programs aimed at five core outcomes: Health, Safety, Economic Wellbeing, Education and Power. Through IRC’s Strategy 100, IRC’s Resettlement, Asylum, and Integration Programs Department will continue and expand on its commitment to delivering impactful programs and services, focusing on raising program quality through giving clients greater influence over program design and delivery, better-using research and other evidence, powering decisions with data, and more agile and impactful, outcomes-focused program design. This position will support these commitments and the IRC’s Data, Research & Evidence Ambition Objectives by leading the development, collection, and use of client feedback data, facilitating client engagement working groups, and supporting network-wide capacity building.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead development, testing, and roll-out of a standardized client feedback data collection tool.
  • Lead validation process of data collection tools.
  • Facilitate client engagement working groups on topics related to IRC’s Data, Research & Evidence Ambition.
  • Code qualitative data in qualitative software (e.g. Dedoose, Atlas.ti, NVivo).
  • Analyze qualitative data and develop dashboards of findings in Power BI.
  • Conduct needs assessments and evaluations using different qualitative methods including focus groups, interviews, and content analysis.
  • Build network-wide capacity for collecting and analyzing qualitative data by developing standard operating procedures, training resources, etc.
  • Develop guidance and trainings on best practices for culturally appropriate client feedback methods.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Working Relationship:

This position is based in RAI’s Research, Analysis, and Learning (RAL) Unit and reports to the Sr. Measurement Officer. They will work in close collaboration with other members of the RAL, Client and Engagement, and Preferred Communities teams and with program offices.

Job Requirements:

Education: Master’s Degree required, in fields such as Applied Statistics, Social Sciences, or Information Management.

Work Experience: At least 3 years conducting qualitative and quantitative (descriptive and inferential) data analysis; developing and validating data collection tools; and conducting project evaluations (preferably projects for refugee or displaced populations).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Project management skills.
  • Experience developing client feedback mechanisms and tools.
  • Understanding of data equity principles.
  • Strong qualitative data analysis skills.
  • Capacity with Dedoose, Atlas.ti, NVivo or similar software.
  • Capacity with Power BI or similar software.
  • Experience with various qualitative data collection methods (e.g., in-depth interviews, focus groups)
  • Experience conducting needs assessments and ideally context assessments
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Ability to set up mobile data collection systems is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively communicate results, including data visualization.
  • Strong attention to detail (excellent proofreading and editing skills).
  • Ability to work flexibly both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
