Quality Assurance Referent

Objective

You are responsible for expert advice and support with regard to quality assurance and the procurement of pharmaceuticals used by the organisation to facilitate its humanitarian response.

Job Overview

  • You validate sources of supply in compliance with international standards and the MSF Qualification Scheme.
  • You maintain the various databases, ensuring product and supplier information, technical documentation and validation status is accurate.
  • You are part of the MSF network of pharmacists. You work in OCA in close collaboration with the MSF IO Pharmacists Coordinator, MSF IO QA Pharmacist, Regulatory Affairs Pharmacists, your counterparts in other MSF Europena Supply Centres (Brussels and Bordeaux), and other relevant stakeholders.
  • You monitor and evaluate the quality of pharmaceutical products to be delivered to the country programs ensuring adequate documentation and adherence to the relevant procedures and policies.
  • You provide expert advice and technical support to facilitate the procurement and supply chain processes, and you keep yourself educated with legislation in the various areas of your expertise.

Accountabilities

  • Validated sources of supply (products-suppliers -manufacturer combinations) in compliance with regulatory directives and MSF standards.
  • Technical and QA related documentation of procured medicines, maintenance of the associated databases and manuals.
  • Advice and support to tactical procurement specialists with regard to sourcing strategies.
  • Advice and support to GDP Responsible Person in relation to non-conformities and quality alerts / batch recalls.
  • Quality of documentation accompanying delivered pharmaceutical products of selected suppliers or purchase orders. (e.g., packing list, certificate of analysis).
  • Manufacturer audit results (in concertation with/ as requested by the MSF IO).
  • Participation in intersectional projects agreed by MSF OCA.

Candidate Profile

  • MSc / University degree in Pharmacy. Must be presently registered as a Pharmacist.
  • At least 5 years of work experience with a minimum of 3 years in humanitarian sector (preferably MSF or an organisation of a similar size/complexity).
  • Practical knowledge of humanitarian pharmaceutical procurement or experience in pharmaceutical industry (Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs or similar) highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible and collaborative team worker.
  • Willingness/readiness to travel in Europe and to other locations (to participate in audits/technical visits).
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of French is an asset

We Offer

  • An employment contract for one year with the option for renewal for 40 hours a week (100%) based on satisfactory performance;
  • A gross monthly salary between €4,665 and €6,422 a month depending on relevant work experience, based on a fulltime appointment;

We are open for applicants outside the Netherlands and to discuss the possibilities of facilitating working remotely or relocation to the Netherlands.
