The Tudituale project, lasting 5 years, will increase the resilience of communities in the Kasaï Central province in the DRC. Farm Radio International (RRI) is a member of the project consortium and is leading work on communicating for social and behavioral change using interactive radio and other methods.
Position overview
Under the supervision of the Radio Professions Team Leader and the Project Coordinator, the position holder will ensure that all aspects of the radio professions of the project are truly implemented, and this, according to the highest standards. more strict. This includes planning, facilitating and evaluating radio program design workshops, radio station training as well as quality assurance of interactive programs produced by radio stations. partners.
Assume responsibilities relating to radio professions in the DRC, mainly the Tudituale project
- Plan, facilitate and evaluate, following the most recent design method, workshops to develop key RRI impact programming messages
- Finalize and submit for validation by the radio professions team leader the plans for interactive radio broadcasts for all stations involved in impact programming projects
- Evaluate the skills of the stations involved in the RRI impact programming project
- Plan, facilitate and evaluate the on-station training offered to radio stations involved in the impact programming project, following the most recent RRI training method
- Provide remote coaching to stations involved in RRI’s impact programming projects, including holding production conferences
- Listen to radio broadcasts and provide follow-up information to stations involved in RRI’s impact programming project
- Write reports on key message development workshops and on-station training
- Ensure that key message development documents and station training plans are discussed and/or revised by the Radio Professions Team Leader
- Collaborate with the Digital Innovations (IN) team to ensure that all interactive (ICT) components of the impact programming project are planned, implemented and monitored
- Share lessons learned and observations of radio profession activities in the DRC for permanent improvement of RRI methods
- Contribute to training, support and cooperation with community listening groups and advisory groups
- Make regular trips across the country, as well as occasional trips outside
- Participate in meetings, training and discussions with RRI Radio Professions colleagues located outside the DRC
Support the activities of other specialized teams
- Support the Broadcasters Resources Department with subscription and resource distribution activities as well as resource orientation sessions, etc.
- Support the Digital Innovations team in the implementation of the interaction components necessary to achieve the project objectives.
- Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, research and learning team activities
- Contribute to activities to develop annual work plans and budget
Qualifications
- University degree in radio journalism or a related field or equivalent work experience in a relevant field
- Have three (3) years of experience in interactive and participatory training, as well as facilitation and mentoring
- Five (5) years of experience in the production/broadcast of radio shows or communications programs
- Great ability to lead participatory initiatives, involving several stakeholders
- Good knowledge of gender issues and the empowerment of women and girls, preferably in the agriculture and food security sector
- Knowledge or experience in project management or project reporting
- Knowledge or experience in monitoring and evaluation
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent writing and presentation skills in French
- Good command of French, with very good written and oral communication skills
- Good oral skills in other national languages of the DRC and understanding of English would be an asset
- Good disposition to make frequent trips within the country or trips to other parts of the world
- Good skills in using electronic communication tools, in particular the Windows package (word, excel, powerpoint, messaging, skype) as well as the Google platform
- Good management skills and animation of messaging tools (WhatsApp, etc.)
