Recruitment Assistant – GOAL Syria in Amman At GOAL

General Description of the Programme:

GOAL has been working in Syria since 2013, responding to the acute needs of conflict-affected communities. GOAL is working in Idleb Governate, both through direct implementation and through partners, delivering food, non-food programming to highly vulnerable populations, and provision of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) through support to Water units, as well as emergency support to recently displaced households.

GOAL has been working in North Aleppo Governate since 2019, through direct implementation and through partners, delivering food, non-food programming to highly vulnerable populations, as well as emergency support for recently displaced household.

Job purpose:

Under the direct supervision of the Recruitment Manager the Recruitment Assistant will:

  • Liaise and coordinate requests and recruitment process between HR recruitment & Program team.
  • Liaise and coordinate with the direct supervisor on daily recruitment related
  • Coordinate with HR Personnel team for new hired staff by facilitating recruitment documents related onboarding and ensuring timely coordination and communication
  • Assist the Recruitment Officer in standard functions related to the recruitment cycle as necessary, such as posting vacancies, phone screening if required, long listing for entry positions, arranging interviews, contacting candidates…etc.
  • Participate in interviews for junior level positions if requested by line manager;
  • Send rejection and apology emails upon the end of a recruitment cycle as requested by line manager;
  • Collect and follow up with selected candidates to collect onboarding documents and complete their personal files.
  • Assist in the orientation of new employed staff, onboarding trainings, hiring paperwork, compiling & presenting information.
  • Send and receive documents from designated signatories and share as applicable with Recruitment Manager;
  • Ensure a clear and complete file for each candidate as per GOAL policies and procedures as well as ensuring the recruitment plan and recruitment tracking sheet are updated on timely manner.
  • Request and review personal documents received from candidates, follow up on any missing documents prior the start date, keep all the in a personal file.
  • Assigned by Recruitment manager to request candidates’ references along with contact candidates’ referees, review referees’ feedback, and record them properly, arrange first joining date with candidates.
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned by direct supervisor.

Requirements (essential)

  • A Bachelors university degree or equivalent qualification in Business administration, Management, Languages or any related fields.
  • Good command in spoken and written English and Arabic,
  • Ability to maintain an adequate speed and volume of output.
  • Ability to perform under continuous stress and deliver complete and accurate translation of a broad range of subjects.
  • Good computer skills.
  • High standards of accuracy, consistency and faithfulness to the spirit, style and nuances of the original text.
  • Excellent teamwork and inter-personnel skills
  • IT literate
  • Very enthusiastic and keen to work hard to achieve the objectives of the programme

Requirements (desired)

At least 1 year experience in the capacity of HR assistant.
