We are ALIMA, an alliance between doctors, local NGOs and researchers, which relies on co-construction. Our ambition is to transform humanitarian medicine by relying on research and innovation to increase the effectiveness of our actions and better protect populations from the health crises of today and tomorrow.
In 2024, we will continue our activities by strengthening our presence in West and Central Africa and continuing our deployment in East Africa and Haiti. As part of these activities, the role of Project Coordinator is of capital importance. They are at the heart of our action, ensuring liaison between the different teams, partners, donors, and the communities we support. They ensure that each initiative achieves its objectives, positively transforming the lives of people in vulnerable situations.
We are launching a recruitment campaign to recruit our future Project Coordinators, who will be able to respond to our operational challenges.
YOUR MISSION
The ProjectALIMA Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing the medical operational strategy at the level of a geographical area.
Under the responsibility of the ALIMA Head of Mission, you will supervise a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the quality of service to beneficiaries. :
You are responsible for the quality of ALIMA’s operational interventions as part of the project.
You define the priorities and objectives of the project and establish a plan to achieve them. To achieve this, you examine data relating to population health and humanitarian needs, analyze the context, the humanitarian issues at stake, and the risks and constraints associated with the context; You then assess the needs in terms of human and financial resources.
You coordinate the execution of the project, in close collaboration with the medical coordinator and the head of mission, in order to ensure the effective achievement of the objectives and also in order to improve the state of health of the targeted population as well as the humanitarian situation .
You ensure compliance with ALIMA and the lessor’s expense initiation procedures.
You are the interface between the coordination team and the field team that you supervise and represent ALIMA to local contacts.
You are the guarantor on the ground of Alima’s operational principles. Through activities, you defend them, apply them and disseminate them.
You supervise and lead the field team and facilitate their participation in the dynamics of the project.
YOUR PROFILE
– Holder of a Bac + 3 or equivalent
– You have at least 2 years of experience in humanitarian action in positions of responsibility including significant experience in ALIMA’s areas of intervention.
– You adhere to the principles of the ALIMA charter and its abuse prevention policy.
– You are committed, willing and motivated to join us or continue your career with us. You are both diplomatic, a good negotiator, determined, patient, but also innovative and creative. You know how to lead teams in a changing context.

CONDITIONS
Duration and type of contract : 06 months renewable
Taking up a position : according to needs between 2024 and 2025
Salary : According to ALIMA salary scale + valuation of experience + Per diem
ALIMA supports:
- Travel costs between your country of origin and the mission location
- Your accommodation in the mission country
- Medical coverage from the first day of contract to one month after the date of departure from the mission country for you and your family. Foresight, evacuation and repatriation
- A daily per diem
- A 10-day break every 3 months with full coverage of transport costs to your usual place of residence
