Are you motivated by improving protection and access to basic services for people along primary migration routes? Then take a look at this. The Danish Red Cross is looking for a person with strong coordination skills to be our primary entry point in a consortium management unit for a large-scale whole-of-route migration programme.
This position is part of the consortium management structure for the whole of route migration project “Pathways to Protection” (P2P). The project is managed by a consortium between three partners, Danish Refugee Council, Danish Red Cross and International Detention Coalition.
Danish Refugee Council (DRC) supports refugees, displaced people, and conflict-affected communities in over 40 countries. Focused on protecting rights, advocating for solutions and providing aid. DRC offers emergency support, livelihoods assistance, and community development while promoting resilience and inclusion.
Danish Red Cross as part of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement, works to improve the lives of people affected by conflict, disasters and economic hardship by providing essential aid and health services, supporting disaster relief efforts, and promoting human dignity and respect for all.
The International Detention Coalition (IDC) is a network of organizations based in 75+ countries advocating for people impacted by immigration detention. IDC promotes alternatives to detention through research, advocacy, and strategic partnerships with governments and civil society, with a focus on rights-based migration pathways.
The position is hosted by the Danish Red Cross and will have a dual management line set up, where daily management line will be to the Chief of Party of the Consortium Management Unit. There will be an additional management line to the Danish Red Cross to ensure accountability towards Danish Red Cross’ obligations towards primary partners in each of the countries of implementation as well as to the wider RCRC Movement principles of working.
The Red Cross Partnership Coordinator will be responsible for cross-cutting and global programme management of the P2P on behalf of the Danish Red Cross with the aim of supporting the programme’s goals and collaboration. The Coordinator will facilitate communication between the Consortium Management Unit and the Danish Red Cross structures, as well as across Danish Red Cross structures on issues related to the P2P. The Coordinator will furthermore lead joint and cross-cutting initiatives of the P2P on behalf of the Danish Red Cross and ensure buy in and alignment with the strategic objectives of the programme contributing to its overall success.
The Partnership Coordinator will be based in a Consortium Management Unit hosted by the Danish Refugee Council in Tunis and will be expected to travel to countries of implementation on a regular basis as well as participate in meetings in relevant global networks on migration.
Your main tasks include:
- Oversight over the full Danish Red Cross allocated grant and budget of P2P together with relevant colleagues in the Danish Red Cross.
- Responsibility for reporting on Danish Red Cross led implementation of P2P into the Consortium Management Unit including consolidation of country level reports.
- Contribution to global risk management of the P2P by consolidating risk assessments from Danish Red Cross country offices and regional offices.
- Contribution to development of and familiarisation with adaptive management approaches within the P2P with the aim of supporting Danish Red Cross country offices and partners on applying and making best usage of such approaches.
- Ensuring that relevant and necessary information on the P2P flows between the Consortium Management Unit and the Danish Red Cross structures.
- Supporting Danish Red Cross country offices to understand perspectives of the P2P set up and of the consortium partners’ roles and responsibilities.
- Staying updated on strategic and contextual developments in the countries of implementation and communicating to Danish Red Cross management as well as to the Chief of Party of the Consortium Management Unit when relevant.
- Contribution to coordination of learning events and exercises across the P2P implementation.
- Contribute to development of concept notes, presentations or other material that can be used for further fundraising for the P2P.
- Participation in Danish Red Cross internal meetings and seminars to ensure that priorities and obligations towards the P2P are well-known and reflected in relevant discussions and result planning etc.
We believe that you fit this position, if you have these qualifications:
- A relevant academic background at master’s level.
- Minimum 5 years’ professional experience from humanitarian and development organizations.
- Minimum 5 years post-graduate and full-time experience from one or more field operations, preferably in fragile contexts.
- Significant experience with project management and coordination of processes with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with managing and implementing donor-funded projects and programmes – DANIDA and other major institutional donor grants.
- Experience with the Red Cross Red Crescent way of working (experience from working with the Danish Red Cross will be an asset)
- Ability to adapt, learn quickly, being solutions oriented, and to work independently.
- Strong cooperation skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills including in writing.
- Strong IT skills, including using Excel and ERP systems.
- Readiness to work on flexible schedule.
- Excellent English and French language skills, (Arabic language skills will be an asset).
