Regional Finance Manager-RAI Europe At International Rescue Committee

We are looking for a Regional Finance Manager who will be supporting Regional Deputy Director Finance overseeing and managing the financial operations within the region. This role involves ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, budget management, financial planning, and analysis. The Regional Finance Manager will work closely with the regional leadership to support strategic decision-making and financial performance.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Be responsible for the region’s offices month and year-end accounting closure.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process for the region.
  • Maintain financial forecasts and projections.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
  • Manage internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks within the region.

Strategic Financial Planning:

  • Assist regional leadership in developing plans and making informed decisions.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to drive business performance.
  • Provide guidance to the region’s offices on implementing financial strategies to achieve regional objectives.

Cash Flow Management:

  • Monitor regional cash flow, ensuring liquidity and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and payable processes.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Provide training to finance team members or any other unit as requested.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the finance team and with other departments.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Identify and implement strategies to optimize financial operations.
  • Use financial systems and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Managing Relationships with Key Parties:

  • Develop and sustain effective partnerships with individuals from regional and HQ teams.
  • Facilitate effective communication between the finance department and other teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365, Excel).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
