The Role
We are looking for Regional Humanitarian Protection Advisor who supports the development and implementation of Oxfam work by providing specialist advice and support on humanitarian protection. The post holder will support Oxfam in Asia to deliver on its ambition as articulated in the Asia Regional Strategy and the Oxfam Global Strategy. Oxfam’s portfolio of work in Asia is transforming to a more diversified portfolio and the postholder is expected to adopt a ‘networked way of working’ to ensure maximum impact.
What we are looking for
Our next Regional Humanitarian Protection Advisor will require involvement in humanitarian response work, preferably in field-based protection work as well as experience of working in a senior advisory role in a humanitarian context. Experience working in the Asia region and understanding of the culture and context of the Asia. Strong conceptual and practical understanding of protection issues and specifically Oxfam’s approach to and role in protection work including advocacy and campaigning. Knowledge and understanding of protection at the field level, including the constraints, sensitivities and risks associated with such work
