POSITION SUMMARY:
HIAS seeks a Regional IT Officer, LAC to provide remote and on-site technical support to regional and country office staff, with a focus on computer hardware/software and organizational systems. This position will help in the implementation of global, regional and country office projects aligned with HIAS’ global IT strategy. This position is also accountable for ensuring compliance with the organization’s IT guidelines, policies and standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides direct technical support to country office IT staff and consultants, as well as to Country Office employees as needed to resolve IT-related hardware and software problems and requests; coordinates vendor support where necessary.
- Sets up new equipment for employees as needed with the proper standard configuration and software according to defined IT procedures.
- Maintains up-to-date inventory of HQ-managed equipment and plans equipment replacement as needed.
- Creates, changes or removes employee system access following standard procedures.
- Ensures all support requests are properly recorded in the ticketing system, keeps requestors informed, completes on time according to procedures, escalating when needed.
- Helps with the roll-out of new applications, systems, and upgrades, to include provision of training.
- Trains employees in the proper use of a variety of IT-related topics, systems or equipment.
- Monitors HIAS’ security and operational systems, alerting and acting promptly following defined protocols and procedures.
- Maintains close communication with the country office IT staff and HQ IT staff to implement global IT projects in the LAC region.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree in Information Technology or a related field of study, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in a help desk/technical support role, supporting a user base that is not in the same physical location.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- Advanced knowledge of latest versions of Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products.
- Excellent working experience with antivirus software for workstations and servers.
- Strong technical aptitude, especially relating to PC/Network hardware.
- Good working knowledge of video conferencing and collaboration tools such as Zoom, MS Teams, MS SharePoint.
- Good working knowledge with MS 365 platform.
- Good working knowledge of MS Azure Active Directory and/or MS Active Directory.
- Good working knowledge of Mobile Device Management tools preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work with minimum supervision and willingness to work in a team environment.
- High organizational skills; ability to cope with competing demands and prioritize tasks.
- Previous experience in NGOs or private sector is highly desired.
- Ability to travel internationally, as needed.
- Availability to work occasional after-hours and weekends for IT-related projects.
