**Regional Officer – Nigeria & Sierra Leone Location: UK Office, London Contract type: Permanent Hours per week: 35 Salary: £26,721 – £28,500 per annum (inclusive of Inner London Weighting allowance)

Are you a driven and collaborative international humanitarian or international development professional, who could provide an essential information link between our British Red Cross UK Head Office in London and the Nigeria and Sierra Leone Region team?**

In this key post you will ensure that the Head of Region and the Country Cluster Manager are effectively resourced from UK Head Office in delivering Regional and Country Strategies respectively. This specifically includes working with the Fundraising and Communications directorates to ensure effective communication of regional activities and messages and successful fundraising campaigns.< br /> Reporting to the Country Cluster Manager, you will support the Nigeria and Sierra Leone region team as well as operational contexts in other countries as directed by the respective country managers with monitoring and reporting, relationship management, and engagement across key internal and external stakeholders.

In this largely autonomous role, you will lead on processes and collaborate on Regional and team actions plans. You will have a broad oversight of the regional budget and country programmes and you’ll be able to assess gaps and identify resources as necessary, to deliver the regional strategy which will enable the organisation to continue to support people in crisis.

The International Division is responsible for international disaster response, support to resilience programmes and organisational development of our partner Red Cross a nd Red Crescent Societies. The work of the International Division also includes humanitarian policy and advocacy activities, and International Humanitarian Law. British Red Cross’ international work is carried out in coordination and partnership with the International Red Cross & Red Crescent Movement.

Is this the opportunity for you?

With an excellent understanding of the region, British Red Cross and international humanitarian system, you will have experience of working or volunteering in humanitarian or international development contexts, either within programmes or policy.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills including facilitation, presentation and report writing (preferably of drafting and compiling programme documents including proposal, log frame, report writing and other project documentation to a variety of audiences.

You will have experience of stakeholder management and partnership or collaborative working across multiple teams (many of which will be remote), you will also have experience of working with FCDO, DEC and other donors.

You will have great administrative, project / programme management and IT skills, including all basic MS office packages including maintenance of spreadsheets and financial databases or systems accurately.
