Regional Procurement and Logistics Manager – Middle East & East Africa

The starting salary package for this position is £37,104 GBP per annum (approx. $49,500 USD)

About the role:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement and logistics manager to support a regional portfolio of MAG programmes, with oversight of strategic and operational support, including the roll out and implementation of a re-structured MAG Procurement and Logistics function.

As one of a number of Regional Procurement and Logistics Managers, reporting to the Global Head of Procurement and Logistics, you will support the development of MAG’s logistics functions across our programmes in the regions. Your main focus will be on Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, South Sudan and Chad, supporting other smaller sized programmes as required. The role will ensure the quality delivery of MAG’s operations by developing and supporting the logistics functions in each country, facilitating the country-level implementation of MAG’s global logistics strategy, supporting the development and implementation of the change management processes needed to coordinate the roll-out of a new Procurement and Inventory Framework, a Global Fleet Management Initiative and Asset Tracking Systems.

This is a challenging and varied role, offering the opportunity to use your wide-ranging logistics and procurement experience to influence the development of the organisation and the programmes in the region.

You will actively contribute and influence the progressive development of MAG global logistics management framework, in collaboration and coordination with the rest of MAG Global Procurement & Logistics Team.

About you:

The successful candidate will have a solid experience in logistics and procurement management across different contexts and different sized programmes. Experience of working in a senior management position in a development or humanitarian organisation is essential. Experience of change management projects and practices is desirable, as is experience of working in the humanitarian mine action sector. French and/or Arabic language skills are also desirable for this role. This role is for a solution focussed and proactive candidate, with excellent communication and influencing skills, to enable the coordination of relationships across programmes and teams.

This role is home-based, with regular travel, which will consist in short to mid-term deployments across MAG programmes, or to meet with HQ or other stakeholders – you could be in Manchester one week, then Iraq or Chad after that.
