The Opportunity
The Research and Evaluation (R&E) Assistant/Associate is a member of the APAC R&E Unit, which is comprised of a team of R&E Specialists, Officers and Associates deployed to deliver studies for Save the Children.
The primary role of the Research and Evaluation (R&E) Associate is to assist the team conduct:
- Research and assessments to inform program design and planning and decision-making at the regional and country level; and
- Evaluations of high-priority programs, advocacy and campaigning work that Save the Children is implementing across Asia-Pacific, and at times the Globe.
Key Responsibilities
RESEARCH AND EVALUATION (80% LOE)
Under guidance from Research and Evaluation Specialists and Officers:
* Facilitate study folder, file and data management systems and record keeping.
* Design and conduct research, assessments and evaluation studies.
* Conduct systematic evidence reviews, literature reviews and evidence gap mapping.
* Develop data collection tools, such as surveys (paper-based and online platform) and interview or focus group discussion questionnaires.
* Prepare templates for qualitative data transcription and analysis.
* Prepare study protocol and materials for submissions to the Ethics Review Committee.
* Conduct quantitative data analysis.
* Conduct qualitative data analysis.
* Conduct data visualization (e.g. in charts/graphs, tables, and infographics).
* Draft research reports and learning products such as evidence to action briefs, fact sheets and presentations.
* Support the Communications Team to design attractive and child-friendly ways of packaging such products.
R&E UNIT SUPPORT (20% LOE)
Support the R&E Director and R&E Manager with:
* R&E Unit Key Performance Indicator reporting.
* Management of the Evidence Advisory Network.
* Coordination of the R&E Community of Practice,
* Other support tasks as required.
