As Regional Senior Advisor, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion – GESI you will develop and guide implementation of regional roadmap to improve GESI within the East Africa Regional office in line with WVI GESI Policy. Your role is instrumental in providing technical support of GESI mainstreaming in the National offices’, positioning with donors and external partners for improved grants acquisition, Support technical design and oversight of quality implementation of GESI responsive programming. In keeping abreast of promising global and regional GESI practices across sectors, you will ensure effective knowledge management and learning across the region, National offices and the broader WV Partnership to enhance effectiveness. At the regional level the position will drive the research agenda and support piloting of new GESI guidelines and approaches while supporting GESI external engagement and advocacy in partnership with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
The position will be based in any of the nine countries in East Africa and will report to the Strategy and Program Quality Director
Requirements include:
- Masters in Gender development and related studies.
- Degree in human rights law, gender studies, social work, development studies, social development, economics, or relevant field.
- At least 6 years’ experience in supporting GESI mainstreaming and targeted designs and related strategies and activities across various sectors.
- Experience leading GESI analysis (specifically gender and disability analysis) to inform design and to support GESI-responsive monitoring and evaluation.
- Experience with disability inclusion in programming.
- Experience in policy influence, advocacy or in developing knowledge products.
