Regional Strategic Communications Manager At Save the Children

The Opportunity

Middle East, North Africa, and Eastern Europe (MENAEE) is an exceptionally busy region, with ambitious advocacy, supporter growth, fundraising and programme delivery targets designed to maximise the positive impact that we can have for children across the world.

Creative and strategic communications, particularly on digital channels, is critical to achieving this ambition, whether across fundraising targets, when lobbying for political change, or raising brand and media profile. We are looking to transform the way we approach communications as a region, integrating meaningful and innovative communications into our wider strategy.

The Regional Advocacy, Campaigns, Communications and Media (ACCM) team is a small and nimble team, overseeing communications and supporter engagement at a regional level for Save the Children Members and Country Offices, working closely with the global communications and engagement team.

The Strategic Communications Manager will be a digital expert, a strategic thinker, and a creative innovator, with a proactive attitude. The role will provide strategic communications and digital support to countries for their national fundraising, campaigning, and advocacy plans, whilst also aligning with global and leading on regionally led initiatives that allow the region to speak out together.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant field (e.g., International Development; Politics, International Relations; Journalism, Communication, Marketing).
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced high energy environment with multiple projects and priorities, able to deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent digital communications skills, with extensive experience running social media and other digital channels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to motivate, influence and negotiate both internally and externally.
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Strong analytics skills, in distilling large amount of information into useable outputs.
  • Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills including influencing and negotiation.
