Médecins Sans Frontières, an international humanitarian medical association created in 1971, provides medical assistance to populations whose lives are threatened: mainly in the event of armed conflicts, but also epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters or exclusion from care. The French section (OCP) is present in around thirty countries.

Regional Technical Referent (RTR)

Assignment
As a Regional Technical Referent, you are the first line of technical support for the coordinations, as such you respond first to questions from coordinators and the field. As a RTR you ensure compliance with MSF policies, guides and procedures.
Activities
In coordination with the Technical Referents of the headquarters and the Logistics Coordinators of the countries of the region:
- You carry out the planned visits according to the terms of reference established by the Logistics Coordinator of the requesting country in the countries of your geographical area,
- You centralize technical support requests and answer questions from Logistics Coordinators in your geographic area, if necessary with the help of your Technical Advisor,
- You participate in the development of visit schedules and propose possible modifications to the initial schedule based on operational needs. The final validation of the schedules and/or their modifications will be ensured by the cell logistics manager in conjunction with the technical referent,
- You are available to intervene in emergency interventions in your geographic area,
- You participate in the revision of documents or technical notes,
- You participate in technological monitoring in your specialty through your participation in test campaigns and through your feedback concerning projects in your geographic area,
- You work on fund files,
- You analyze the components of your activity for all the missions in your geographic area at least once a year,
- You write visit reports and an annual activity report.
Under the hierarchical responsibility of the Logistics Unit Manager:
- You respond to one-off missions at the request of logistics coordinators in countries in your geographic area,
- You participate in the recruitment of national technicians,
- You contribute to the ongoing training of teams,
- You assess the technical level of specialists (national and international), contribute to defining courses and propose ad hoc training,
- You validate the service providers and the product-supplier pairs,
- You advise and support logistics coordinators in their decision-making relating to your technical specialty.
Candidate profile
Education and experience
- Experience with MSF or another NGO is mandatory.
- Field experience (at least 12 months) in the field of electricity.
- Field experience in the field of renewable energies is an asset.
- 5 years of professional activity are desirable.
- Significant experience in team management is required.
- Diploma in the field of electricity required.
- Experience in the field of heating, ventilation and air conditioning would be a plus.
Languages: French (B1) and English (B2)

Contract and conditions:
- 12-month full-time fixed-term contract or 2-year LTA contract
- Position based in Nairobi with frequent travel to missions and headquarters (approximately 50%)
- Level 12 salary according to the MSF scale and depending on experience: 2408 euros gross monthly + MSF seniority or equivalent position within an NGO
- Support from MSF: transport, accommodation, food and other + daily per diem in the field for current expenses. Insurance. Full medical care: mutual insurance / vaccines / field / evacuation / return.
