Overview: IBTCI seeks a Reporter (2) for the potential award of a 4-year Long-Term Agreement (LTA) to provide Third-Party Monitoring and Assessment services to the United Nations’ (UN) Food and Agriculture Organization in Iraq.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Draft project progress and terminal narrative reports (using the appropriate donor- specified or corporate templates);
  • Liaise with the Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) unit to obtain regular updates of the project results matrices (indicator-based data), and information for the report sections on lessons learned and accountability to affected populations;
  • Liaise with colleagues in field offices to obtain information on project implementation progress (actual activities conducted against planned activities), challenges, and adaptive management measures taken;
  • Carefully review inputs from technical colleagues and ensure quality control in-line with corporate standards, including FAO Style;
  • Contribute to ensure all reports have the necessary clearances and revisions prior to donor submission (internal and technical), in accordance with FAO project cycle management guidelines;
  • Develop/support the preparation of other programme or thematic area reports;
  • Update the Reporting Matrix with the distinct requirements of each project/donor (e.g. annual, interim, quarterly reports, etc.), and track progress to satisfy these in a timely manner;
  • Work together with the MEAL unit to develop the capacity of implementing partners and Third Party Monitoring (TPM) agencies to provide quality reports;
  • Perform any other related duties as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years in reporting;
  • Fluency in English and Arabic
  • Experience in communications and report writing for humanitarian and/or development projects or activities.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in either agriculture economics, development studies or social sciencies.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience working with large teams, preferably in international development Monitoring and Evaluation projects;
  • Experience in providing Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) services to international donor agencies like the United Nations and specifically the FAO.

Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment. Currently the company is allowing for remote work due to COVID 19 in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area. This can be updated by the company.

Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Travel: International travel may be required and may include travel to fragile and/or conflict-prone zones.
