Research Assistant At Emergency – Rehabilitation – Development Group

Founded in 1993, Groupe URD is an independent think tank specializing in the analysis of practices and the development of policies for humanitarian action and the management of fragilities. GENERAL MISSION
Currently the themes addressed are:
– the challenges of adapting the aid sector to climate change
– the resilience of populations
– taking the environment into account and reducing the environmental footprint of aid in programs
– the localization of aid and mutual aid in times of crisis
– the evaluation of humanitarian projects

Tasks and responsibilities
As part of these research themes, the intern will be integrated into the Groupe URD research team. His/her main mission will be to assist Groupe URD researchers in conducting their work.
The intern will have the following tasks (non-exhaustive list and may change during the internship):
1) Support for research and/or evaluations (75%)
2) Support for network and tool development (25%)

REQUIRED PROFILE:
Groupe URD is looking for an intern with higher education in the social sciences and/or an engineering school. The person sought must have a minimum of experience in conducting research as well as an interest in the themes of Groupe URD.
Experience and/or good knowledge of the international solidarity and/or associative environment is an asset.

EXPECTED SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
o Writing and synthesis skills,
o Fluency in English, both spoken and written,
o Comfortable with IT and information management tools (Word, Excel, ppt, Internet and Mailings)
o Mastery of qualitative approaches and analyses;
o Experience in using MAXQDA software
o Autonomy, organization & rigor,
o Responsiveness & dynamism,
o Teamwork skills,
o Interest and/or knowledge of the international solidarity sector or the associative sector.

CONDITIONS:
– Start of internship: January/February 2025
– Duration: 6 months
– Mandatory internship agreement
– Internship allowance, possibility of free accommodation on site
– Location: based in Plaisians at the headquarters of Groupe URD
– Driving license B required due to the geographical location, car desired
