Research Assistant for the Humanitarian Environment Network (REH) At Emergency – Rehabilitation – Development Group

Job Expired

More Information

Founded in 1993, Groupe URD is an independent think-tank specializing in the analysis of practices and the development of policies for international aid and the management of fragilities. Its multidisciplinary expertise, fueled by constant visits to crisis and post-crisis areas, allows it to understand how the sector operates as a whole. Committed to the exchange of knowledge and collective learning, it supports aid actors in the process of improving the quality of their interventions. Groupe URD is the facilitator of the Humanitarian Environment Network (REH) and a member of its Steering Committee, alongside Action Against Hunger, Care France, the French Red Cross, Humanity & Inclusion, Doctors of the World and Solidarities International.

The REH aims to advance environmental mainstreaming among member organizations and more broadly in the international aid sector. To do this, it has set itself three objectives: (1) Promote a spirit of collaboration, and encourage the sharing of experiences and knowledge on the links between the environment and humanitarian or development aid; (2) Carry out studies, tools, or projects aimed at reducing the environmental footprint of humanitarian and development aid, disseminate them and promote action; and (3) Advocate with the management and governance bodies of member organizations that are not yet committed to reducing their environmental footprint and with other stakeholders, particularly donors, in order to promote the institutional integration of environmental concerns in the sector.

The REH is composed of approximately 250 individuals and 40 organizations. The Forum is the arena for the exchange of ideas and debates, allowing the sharing of information and experiences between REH members. The REH also has 4 operational or strategic Working Groups (WG) (carbon, environmental assessments, waste and sustainable and responsible purchasing).

Would you like to get involved with the REH to actively participate in the ecological transition of the international aid sector?

Join a committed and dynamic team at the headquarters of the URD Group, in Plaisians in Drôme Provençale, where you will work in a magnificent setting with high environmental quality.
