Description: A research & operations intern helps manage and implement team plans and optimize day-to-day functions using leadership skills and techniques to improve the quality, speed and efficiency of EI’s work. In addition, this role requires strong critical analysis, writing and research skills to support the documentation of results related to Emerging Impacts work and client engagements, which are primarily focused on the piloting of crypto-enabled blockchain applications and use cases that enable the efficient and low-cost delivery of cash assistance to vulnerable and marginalized communities.
Responsibilities:
Operations
- Provide direct support to the Chief Operations Officer to ensure that Emerging Impact operations support the quality delivery of services for existing clients.
- Create weekly meeting agendas for team meetings based on action items that need to be done from previous week, including weekly progress updates for EI Services based on activity and meeting outcomes
- Update Notion page to enable team tracking and collaboration on all work related to the identification, development, deployment and documentation of blockchain for social good pilots and other EI Services engagements
- Scan available opportunities for grants and funding aligned with digital innovation in the development and humanitarian sector, and support the grant application and submission progress
- Support the creation and population of a suite of tools and templates to assist EI in delivering standardized and quality services to clients
Research
- Act as the primary focal person to support EI in conducting preliminary research for clients on the suitability of blockchain technology for use in humanitarian and development sector programs, social safety nets and economic and financial ecosystems development in emerging markets
- Conduct research required to implement EI’s Product Methodology, such as high-level feasibility studies on the social, financial, economic and programmatic context in countries where digital cash assistance pilots may be deployed
- Provide preliminary summary research and analysis for target clients and core client lead opportunities, such as slide decks and concept notes for potential client engagements
- Lead the drafting, editing and analysis of data and user feedback from EI’s blockchain for social impact Pilot Case Studies **
