Only in 2018 with our actions in favor of children, we managed to impact 40 municipalities in 6 departments of the country.

Primarily, our work focuses on indigenous populations affected by poverty, violence, migration, abuse and other violations of law, guiding our interventions in long-term sustainable development actions, as well as in humanitarian response during crisis situations. To date, programs linked to our strategic objectives are implemented in Guatemala, including: Child Poverty, Education, Health and Nutrition, Public Investment in Children and Child Protection.

SC will integrate the “ Adolescent Nutrition ” component into the LENS project activities into the existing LENS project activities. The LENS project is currently implementing the School Health and Nutrition program in El Quiché, improving the quality of education and nutrition, reaching more than 46,000 students, beneficiaries of enrollment in 315 schools located in 7 municipalities ( San Pedro Jocopilas, Sacapulas, Cunén, Uspantán, Cotzal, Chajul, and Nebaj ). The project is also implementing the Field Technical Schools model for School Feeding ( ETCAE ),aimed at local agricultural producers to strengthen their agricultural knowledge and skills and facilitate their linkage as providers of school feeding and supply the demands of local nutritious food products to schools. The initiative will incorporate nutritional interventions for adolescents, including training ETCAE participants so that they can produce nutritious food for their own consumption and to generate income from the surpluses produced.

The central objective of the initiative is to empower adolescents to create innovative solutions for nutrition and food security, increasing the use of best practices related to nutrition and food security within the framework of the Field Technical Schools (ETCAE) model, in addition, that they receive the certificate and accreditation from the Ministry of Education.

Adolescents, especially girls between the ages of 12 and 18, will actively participate in the co-design, implementation and monitoring of project activities, promoting cultural relevance and sustainability.
