Presentation of TGH

“Actor of sustainable and shared solidarity”

Founded in 1994, TGH, a French international solidarity association based in Lyon, develops and implements emergency, rehabilitation and development programs in the areas of water, hygiene and sanitation, food security and livelihoods, protection and education. TGH currently works in 13 countries in Africa, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Operational management of projects is divided into three geographical desks, supported in particular by technical referents specific to each theme of intervention of the NGO, management controllers and a human resources department.

The RT SAME provides technical support to all Food Security and Livelihoods programs implemented by the association, at all stages of the process.

The position involves numerous and frequent stays in the countries of intervention.

He/She works under the supervision of the Development and Quality Director.

He/she works in close collaboration with the Geographic Managers (desk) and in liaison with the various departments at headquarters. He/she ensures:

  • Technical supervision of projects in conjunction with project managers and geographic managers
  • Active participation in exploratory missions and in the programming of operations
  • Active participation in the development of projects with geographic managers
  • Active participation in the drafting of proposals and reports for donors
  • Regular updating of resources (reference documents, tools, etc.) made available to missions relating to its field of intervention
  • Active participation in cross-functional projects supervised by the Development and Quality Director, such as the MEAL component
  • Participation in recruitment interviews, briefing and debriefing of expatriate staff
  • Representation of the association with local authorities, partners and donors during technical visits

To do this, he/she must in particular:

  • Participate in internal coordination meetings (operational team meetings, technical division meetings, meetings with geographic managers)
  • Ensure the technical validation of orders and purchases of equipment within the framework of the programs in particular, ensure the technical control and quality of purchases
  • Systematically use project monitoring tools, ensure their analysis and sharing with the rest of the operational team
  • Contribute to monitoring indicators, achievement of objectives and results
  • Provide specific monitoring of projects with identified technical or geographical issues
  • Contribute to developing/improving project monitoring tools
  • Implement sectoral assessment tools
  • Contribute to the standardization of TGH approaches
  • Ensure the backup and archiving of technical documents related to operations, in particular by managing the operation of the internal TGH space
  • Develop internal methodological tools and documents and capitalize
  • Develop operating procedures, alternative solutions and pilot projects
  • Ensuring the availability of cluster strategies in our different countries of intervention
  • Develop a sectoral positioning and ensure its implementation on the missions
  • Provide technical support to project managers and coordinators (technical or program) in the field
  • Lead technical and sectoral discussions within teams
  • Ensure monitoring of intervention methods and technical practices to be promoted
  • Strengthen the integrated approach (in conjunction with other technical referents)
  • Ensure monitoring of private and public financing opportunities in conjunction with Operations Programming and Geographic Managers

Profile

  • Agricultural engineer or equivalent (master’s level)
  • Minimum 5 years of field experience in SAME, agricultural development and/or economic development programs, ideally in emergency, rehabilitation and development contexts
  • Experience or knowledge in monetary transfer modalities, in issues related to environmental questions
  • Excellent writing skills in French and English essential
  • Project cycle management proficiency
  • Proficiency in office software (Word, Excel) essential
  • Autonomy and sense of initiative
  • Stress resistance and self-control
  • Ability to take initiative, responsiveness, solution orientation
  • Rigor, organization, planning, listening, good interpersonal skills, particularly in remote exchanges
