Sanitary Landfill Advisor At Tetra Tech

The USAID-funded Clean Cities Blue Ocean (CCBO) project in the USA, implemented by Tetra Tech International Development, is currently accepting expressions of interest for Sanitary Landfil Advisor. This position will be located in Lima, Peru.

The Sanitary Landfill Advisor will prepare technical documents and reports, conduct consultations and obtain certifications or favorable opinions needed for preparing a public investment project to improve the comprehensive management of solid waste in the district of Máncora, specifically the development of a sanitary landfill for final disposal.

Responsibilities:

*Prepare a site selection report for the land where the Máncora sanitary landfill would be implemented, based on the criteria established in current regulations.

* Prepare a disaster risk assessment report (caused by natural phenomena or human action), regarding the location of the land where the sanitary landfill would be implemented. The report must be signed by a professional registered in the National Registry of Disaster Risk Assessors (Renaerd), in accordance with current regulations.

* Prepare the necessary information (utm zone and terrain query coordinates in SHAPE.zip or CSV file) to carry out the query on the potential overlapping of proposed landfill site with protected natural areas (PNA), their buffer zones (ZA) and Regional Conservation Areas (ACR) in the virtual compatibility module of the National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State (Sernanp).

* Obtain the map that certifies the non-overlapping of the land where the final disposal infrastructure of Máncora would be enabled with protected natural areas (ANP), its buffer zones (ZA) and Regional Conservation Areas (ACR), through the module of virtual compatibility of Sernanp.

* Prepare all the documents required to request the Certificate of Inexistence of Archaeological Remains (CIRA) on the land where the sanitary landfill would be implemented.

* Obtain the Certificate of Inexistence of Archaeological Remains (CIRA) on the land where the sanitary landfill would be implemented.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Industrial, Chemical or Sanitary Engineering and/or Biology.

* At least 5 years of experience working in municipal solid waste management.

* Experience in managing certifications or favorable opinions for solid waste infrastructure projects is desirable.
