As the Security Advisor (Partnerships and Access) at Trócaire, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our global security management efforts within the International Division. Reporting to the Head of Global Security, you will collaborate closely to develop and maintain robust security supports for our partners.
You will foster a proactive security culture by ensuring regular communication with country teams and offering context-relevant advice and training. Staying informed about political, economic, and social developments in regions where Trócaire operates, you will be ready to provide critical support in times of crisis, including advising the Crisis Management Group.
Your role will extend to providing comprehensive security training globally and conducting capacity-building sessions tailored to the needs of our partners.This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to Trócaire’s mission while working in either our Maynooth, Ireland, or Nairobi, Kenya offices.

You will report to the Head of Global Security. The job opportunity will be offered on a fixed term for 3 years and is based in either Maynooth, Ireland or Nairobi Kenya.
Your Experience
We value candidates with significant international security management experience, ideally gained through national security forces or commercial humanitarian international security roles. A solid grasp of international relations, geopolitics, and current global security issues is essential. Previous experience of at least two years in a security capacity with an international development or humanitarian NGO, or multi-lateral agency (UN, EU), particularly in challenging environments, is strongly preferred. Expertise in security risk management standards, including conducting assessments, audits, and implementing effective security protocols, is crucial for success in this role. Experience in developing and delivering impactful training and workshops, along with familiarity with humanitarian standards and working closely with local partner organizations, will be highly advantageous.
