The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a neutral and independent international humanitarian organization, which assists and protects victims of armed conflicts and other situations of violence. The ICRC is currently looking for staff for its support operations in Iraq.

Job Title: Security Guard

Level: A1**

Duty Station: Iraq – Najaf Sub-Delegation**

Reports to: Security Guard Team Leader

Duration of Contract: One-year fixed term contract (with the possibility of renewal to an open-ended contract where performance and competencies are key to be selected for further contractual continuity)**

Objective:

The Security Guard produces and maintains security in the assigned premises and performs security screening of people and/or vehicles, in addition, to report incidents to the security guard team leader.

Key Responsibilities:

· Always applies the established security rules;

· Welcomes, screens, reports/records and announces all visitors and vehicles arriving at the assigned premises;

· Immediately reports any problem/incident or anything suspicious to his/her hierarchical supervisor;

· Performs regular checks of the premises/compound (including fire extinguishers, windows, doors, lights, and piping) to prevent incidents;

· Makes sure that the guard post is not left unattended (i.e. does not leave the post until the guard on the next shift has arrived) and ensures proper handover to the next shift.

Education and Professional Experience required:

· Primary school education;

· Very good in written and spoken of Arabic language and basic knowledge of English;

· Similar work experience desirable.
