Security Guard , NRC MERO ( Jordanian Nationals Only ) At Norwegian Refugee Council

Under the guidance of the admin team leader, the Security Guard will contribute to the fulfillment of the aims and objectives of safety and security In the Middle East Regional Office (MERO) based in Amman, Jordan and therefore the broader aims of NRC as a whole. The position will assist the Admin team leader, in the implementation of NRC security procedures, with staff safety being the primary duty and the overall security of NRC offices and compounds.

1. Roles and Responsibilities

The following is a brief description of the role.

Generic responsibilities (max 10)

  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement.
  • Perform according to the work and development plan.
  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards & principles within NRC and amongst beneficiaries served by NRC.

Specific responsibilities

  • Drafts basic correspondence, collects data and reflects every important event in the office log book (such as name and time for: visitors, contractors, suppliers, people who have interviews, etc.).
  • Responsible for managing access to NRC offices, and preventing unauthorized access.
  • Responsible for opening and locking NRC offices, including management of keys.
  • Responsible for monitoring CCTV cameras, and other safety monitoring and reporting any security related issues or breaches to the admin team leader.
  • Accompanies NRC visitors or maintenance persons to the desired offices.
  • Responsible for recording deliveries of assets and keeping appropriate documentation.
  • Responsible for the NRC general phone number after normal working hours.
  • Supports security department in ensuring the general Safety and Security of NRC staff and assets.
  • Supports in Fire Safety Drills and trained to support in cases of evacuation

· Welcome and greet visitors to NRC MERO/SRO Office’s and direct them accordingly and escort them to specific destinations when required.

· Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the line manager.
