IMPACT Iniciatives (IMPACT) is a humanitarian NGO based in Geneva, Switzerland. The organization manages several initiatives, including the REACH Initiative (REACH), which aims to improve the impact of humanitarian, recovery and development action, through quality information, coordination and capacity building of partners in the sector. IMPACT has been present in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) since 2019. To implement REACH activities, IMPACT works with ACTED, an international NGO based in Paris. The two organizations have a strong complementarity formalized in a global partnership, allowing IMPACT to benefit from ACTED’s operational support in its areas of intervention.

  • General Objective : The Senior Analyst will be part of the Humanitarian Analysis Cell team, contributing to evidence-based analysis of humanitarian needs in Venezuela. This includes qualitative, quantitative and GIS data analysis, among others, and support to humanitarian actors and coordination forums. The position requires a high level of external involvement and commitment. Previous experience in research projects in complex humanitarian settings and the ability to work in Caracas and travel within Venezuela is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Evaluation and Analysis Management, including evaluation design, data analysis plans, technical support to humanitarian actors and preparation of dynamic dashboards in collaboration with key partners.
  • Developing and implementing the strategy, contributing to the growth of the Humanitarian Analysis Cell, representing IMPACT in meetings and coordinating with various partners to ensure participation and transparency in accountability
  • Contribute under information confidentiality protocols and with a high commitment to data protection
  • Have previous experience in research projects in complex humanitarian environments and have the ability to work in Caracas and travel within Venezuela.

REQUIREMENTS

Academic Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline (information management, information systems, database management, remote sensing, statistics) or equivalent work experience.

Work Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in information management, data visualization or other related areas, ideally of a humanitarian nature.
  • Experience in information management in response to disasters or complex emergencies.
  • Experience in the United Nations system or in an international organization and in coordination with different actors in the humanitarian architecture is desirable.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with the humanitarian system and experience in sectoral data and information management (ideally in food security, nutrition, WASH and/or health).
  • Excellent analytical and evaluation skills, including understanding of sampling frames and analysis of large data sets.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office. Desirable in GIS and statistical software (R, STRATA, Python)
  • Skills in graphic design (InDesign, Illustrator) and data visualization (Tableau, Power BI).

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent communication and report writing skills, with experience in high-level presentations.

Personal Capabilities:

  • Ability to multitask under tight deadlines in a complex environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work in an intercultural environment that requires flexibility.
  • Oral and written command of English is desirable.
  • Ability to operate in a complex and challenging security environment.

  • Salary defined based on the organization’s salary table; level of education, experience, security and results will be considered in the form of a bonus;
  • Work location: Caracas, Venezuela with possible travel within the country and region;
  • Contract duration: 11 months (with possibility of extension);
  • Candidates must have Venezuelan nationality or a residence permit in the country.
