Job description
As a Campaigner you will be part of a pool of public campaigners from Oxfam Novib who work on different issues. In the role you are part of the Campaigns & Influencing Expertise Unit. You will work closely with colleagues from the Program Units and other Engagement Units.

We are looking for people with an affinity for climate and inequality issues.

And especially to those with a proven track record in developing creative concepts, who dare to think outside the box and can bring the problem close to the experience of Dutch people. Those who have led campaign teams and are skilled in digital media. All this to increase our visibility and impact and ensure that we are a force of influence that is recognized and respected when necessary.

Together with the other Senior Campaigner you will take on a leadership role to ensure the unit delivers:

  • High-quality expertise in the field of campaigns and influencing for all Oxfam Novib programs.
  • Overseeing, coordinating and delivering impactful campaigns and influencing efforts in the Netherlands.
  • You will strategically and practically support the unit manager to make the above-mentioned reality. You dare to take responsibility for the campaign in this unit.

Main responsibilities

  • Leading multidisciplinary teams responsible for major campaigns on climate change and/or wealth tax.
  • Act as a senior authority with no hierarchical responsibility for the campaigners. Replace the unit manager if necessary.
  • Providing guidance/guidance on response to events in the news.
  • Establish mechanisms and working methods to ensure that Oxfam Novib’s campaign activities take an intersectional approach and target the most marginalized voices.
  • Developing strategies to maintain gender equality in Oxfam Novib’s advocacy and campaign agenda, the use of gender mainstreaming makes public interventions more effective and ensures that inequalities are not maintained.
  • Also contribute to certain campaigns and programs through limited financing.
  • Innovate, think in possibilities, be creative and take initiatives.

Who are we looking for?

  • Understand the expectations and ambitions of the Engagement department and its individual units, and ensure campaigners are able to provide the expertise and knowledge to meet these.
  • Managing the latest techniques and tactics for campaigns, including the latest digital insights.
  • Guiding other campaigners in the funnel and customer journey.
  • Leading in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of activities.
  • You have around 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • You have good oral and written skills in Dutch and English.
  • You have a valid permit to live and work in the Netherlands.

  • Oxfam Novib offers an attractive and fair employment conditions package including end-of-year bonus and annual wage increase under the collective labor agreement. We also offer a choice of various additional options. The position is classified in scale 10 with a salary range of €3,469 to €5,339 gross per month based on 36 hours per week.
