Background:
Hedayah is the premier international organization dedicated to using its expertise and experiences to counter violent extremism (CVE) in all of its forms and manifestations. Established in 2012, Hedayah was created in response to the growing desire from members of the Global Counter-Terrorism Forum (GCTF) and the wider international community for the establishment of an independent, neutral and multilateral center devoted to dialogue, communications, capacity building programs, research and analysis. As a leader within the CVE community, we work to enhance understanding and share good practices to effectively build the capacity of CVE actors across the globe to promote tolerance, stability, and security
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and implement corporate communications and digital media strategies to expand Hedayah’s global network;
- Manage Hedayah’s digital communications strategy, content, campaigns and analytics;
- Develop, draft and review corporate communication materials and content, including newsletters, blogs, press kits, press releases, executive briefings, presentations and fact sheets, among others;
- Mentor, advise and train staff on good practices in implementing corporate communications initiatives;
- Manage Hedayah’s visual identity to ensure consistency with oversight on creative productions, including infographics, presentations, publications, videos and reports, among others;
- Lead and coordinate strategic countering violent extremism communication programs on behalf of major donors, specializing in engaging young people, including the conceptualization, research, budgeting, implementation and managing teams of consultants;
- Develop communications, social media, media, branding and crisis communications guidelines and frameworks for staff;
- Coordinate and advise executive leadership to ensure consistency of the Hedayah brand, communications and messaging;
- Liaise with global stakeholders, including international nonprofits, governments, counter-terrorism institutions, technology companies, media, among others, to coordinate communications outreach;
- Manage the Hedayah website and third-party service providers, including videographers, photographers, graphic designers and production companies;
- Represent Hedayah at global forums on topics of strategic communications and messaging to counter violent extremism.
Qualification and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations and/or other related areas (a first degree will be considered in lieu of a Masters for candidates with significant experience)
- 8+ years’ experience of working in a similar role of communications, public relations or marketing
- Prior experience of working in an international setting is a plus.

- Fluent in English, any other languages, including Arabic, are a plus.

Other Conditions:
- Two years’ contract, renewable upon satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
