About the role
As Senior Data Investigations Advisor in our London office, you’ll support colleagues toxify investments into the de-forestation sector, stripping back financial sector greenwash.
You will be the expert in rigorous analysis of financial and supply chains data which forms the basis of regular and impactful media exposés into the destruction of climate-critical tropical rainforests by big business and their financial backers.
This work will support the Forest Newsroom and other internal colleagues, including fellow investigators, analysts, programmers and policy experts working on forest regulation/legislation in the UK, US, EU and China as they seek solutions to the deforestation crisis.
This role can be done on a 4-day week basis and the above salary will be pro-rated if this is the case.
About you
You will be a talented and persistent researcher with an understanding of the financial sector and a keen eye for a story. Passionate about achieving change, you’ll know how to identify leads and work with others to communicate your findings rapidly, accurately and persuasively.
As a core part of your skills, you will bring your ability to wrangle and analyse diverse datasets in the pursuit of an investigation. You’ll have a solid foundation in at least one programming language (e.g. R, Python) and a history of working with financial filings, trade records and a broad array of geospatial data. As a creative problem solver, you will identify novel solutions to technical challenges.
