The Senior Education Advisor is vital for the quality of Save the Children’s education programmes and has a strong role to play in supporting program development and implementation. Education is one of the strong thematic focus areas in Save the Children Denmark so the need to ensure quality expertise in education is crucial. In the team International Education & Youth we work with partners, donors, local organisations, and working towards the common goal of ensuring children´s right to education.
You will be part of a strong team of advisors in the broader Save the Children and in Denmark, who all have a passion for the right to education and especially for the most vulnerable children in the world.
YOU WILL:
- Provide technical expertise and support to implementing Country Offices where needed.
- Plan technical consultancies, and manage consultants for specific programme deliverables, including quality assurance.
- Ensure strong alignment between Country Office implementation, global deliverables, and overall programme results.
- Collaborate with the Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning team for strong MEAL linked to programme deliverables, Results, and Impact.
- Support quality reporting together with SCD and CO colleagues.
YOUR PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL PROFILE:
- 5+ years of work experience in the field of education including play-based approaches.
- Field experience implementing child-focussed education, child protection, or MHPSS programmes in low resource, complex or crisis contexts.
- Proven experience of building partnerships with donors, including detailed collaboration in addition to reporting, with a preference for experience of private foundations and education-focussed donors.
- Strong experience in programme development and advocacy.
- Proven experience establishing successful partnerships.
- Experience planning and delivering consultancies or research would be highly beneficial.
- Experience in one or two of the following thematic focus areas: Gender, Climate change and MHPSS.
- Have a heart that beats for education for all children.
THE TEAM
We are seven commited colleagues who work closely together even we don’t sit in the same office every day. We look for someone in a timezone close to Copenhagen.
