CRD is a think tank that operates in the support, generation, and dissemination of evidence-based research from combined perspectives of public health and social science in the MENA, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe. CRD was officially established in 2014. In close cooperation with its partners, the goal is to apply scientific innovative know-how and to transform evidence-based data into programmatic actions. International donors, UN agencies, INGOs, universities, local organizations, and government ministries rely thereby on CRD’s expertise and deep understanding of the research environment.
- Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and oversee epidemiological studies to monitor trends, identify risk factors, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
- Analyze data from various sources to identify patterns and trends in population health and apply advanced statistical analysis techniques.
- Develop predictive models and perform statistical analyses to support public health decision-making.
- Develop comprehensive study protocols.
- Other tasks as assigned by the CEO.
- Define survey methodologies, including sampling techniques, sampling frames, sample size calculations, survey instruments, and data collection procedures.
- Develop and validate questionnaires and data collection tools.
- Develop and deliver training programs for public health staff on epidemiological methods, and data analysis.
- Prepare and present reports, research findings, and policy briefs to diverse audiences.
- Represent the organization at national and international conferences, workshops, and meetings.
- Publish results in relevant scientific journals and contribute to policy briefs.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including statisticians, data scientists, AI experts, and public health officers, to integrate epidemiological findings into broader public health strategies.
- Mentor and supervise junior public health staff, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment.
2. Qualifications
- A minimum of a master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years in research and managing complex epidemiological projects.
- Strong background in statistical analysis and the use of epidemiological software (e.g., Python, Stata, R, SPSS).
- Proficiency in GIS and spatial analysis tools is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in preparing detailed reports and presenting findings to diverse audiences.
- Engage with local and international organizations as required.
- Attend meetings, take notes, organize communication and generally support the smooth management of the research.
- Fluent in English and Arabic; proficiency in French is an advantage.
