Senior Executive Assistant to the General Direction At Médecins Sans Frontières en Suisse

Mission and Context

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an independent humanitarian organization that provides medical aid to victims of man-made or natural disasters, armed conflicts, epidemics and endemics. Its Operational Centre in Geneva (MSF OCG) directly manages medical assistance programmes in 28 countries worldwide.

The General Direction of MSF OCG is one of the eight departments of MSF OCG, and is made of several units comprising a total of 28 people. The Executive Assistant (EA) directly reports to the Director General (DG) and is a resource person for the day-to-day functioning of the General Direction (GD) and the smooth running of the Management Team. The EA works closely with the DG and the two Deputy DG.

Responsibilities

· Daily support to the General Director;

· Coordination of the Management Team Meeting (as a platform);

· Focal point for information management and external relations for the General Direction;

· Responsible for the organisational aspects of the department;

· Active role in the recruitment of GD staff members and directors, as well as in terms of HR administration;

· In charge of the administrative secretariat of the department.

· May be in charge of supporting departmental or transversal dossiers upon request from the DG

Your Profile

Education

· University Degree in administration, international relations, communications or any equivalent training.

Experience

· At least 3 years of experience in similar/equivalent position

· Experience with MSF or another NGO/International organization an asset.

Languages

· Fluent in English and in French (written and spoken),

· Knowledge of German is an asset.

Personal Abilities

· Ability to manage multiple file and task at the same time, strong organizational skills.

· Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.

· Flexibility, adaptability and ability to work in a multicultural environment;

· Able to synthesis complex and sensitive written and oral information

· Autonomous, consensus-building and team player.

· Solution oriented

· Interest, understanding and commitment to the humanitarian principles and values of MSF**

Skills/ Technical competencies

· Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks and dossiers.

· Planning and organization;

· Excellent written and verbal communications skills, ability to analyse and to express different points of view and nuances.

· Ability to capture discussions and decisions.

· Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office environment (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

Terms of Employment

· Open-ended contract, 100% (40h/week)

· Working place : Geneva,

· Ideal start date: August 1st, 2022

· Gross annual salary: from CHF 84’814.- to CHF 97’650.- (salary commensurate with equivalent experience and internal salary grid)
