Senior Finance Manager

We’re looking for an experienced professional with a background in the international development / not for profit sector to join our team in either our Copenhagen or Brussels offices, ideally from January 2022. As Senior Finance Manager, you’ll provide high-quality finance management and control to the organisation via development of reporting tools (excel or PowerBI), internal monitoring and compliance, development and maintenance of policies and efficient procedures. Provision of support to programme finances will be core to the role, as well as cross-cutting finance tasks such as handling intercompany balances, monitoring and quality-control of balance sheet reconciliations, dealing with exchange rate issues, provision of support in development of liquidity forecast tool and other financial tools.

With a proven track record of financial management experience and demonstrable experience of finance leadership and donor compliance in the International Development / not for profit sector, you’ll bring a higher education qualification in accounting and finance management or business management as well as a professional financial qualification from a recognised professional institution.

As well as the technical experience and skills necessary in this role, we’re looking for someone who has experience in providing training and capacity building to country teams and partners and who is willing to travel to Mission East’s other office locations, as required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with sensitivity to cultural differences and ability to work with distance management is important, and previous experience of working in Eastern Europe and/or Central Asia would be advantageous.

As our working language, we ask for fluency in English, spoken and written. Knowledge of Danish or German can be considered as an advantage. And of course, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate commitment to the vision and values of Mission East.
