SENED is an independent non-governmental and non-profit organization established in 2013 and registered in Turkey with the number 27-15-175. SENED was established by a group of humanitarian and social activists in responding to the Syrians suffer since 2011. SENED has become specialized in working with and supporting people with special needs since 2015 due to the realization of the tremendous tragedy that people with special needs live in Syria through periodic visits to their places.

Job Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Finance Manager, the Senior Finance Officer will be responsible to prepare and follow up on financial reports for donors (providing notes, archiving, and editing), ensure correct and accurate journal entries (expenses – accruals) and following up on all payments (donors – suppliers) and closing of accounting systems entries.

Key Activities/Tasks/Duties

  • lead, manage, and develop the finance team in field.
  • Provide all necessary support to the finance department team and help resolve all issues and conflicts that may arise because of the day-to-day operations.
  • Check and review daily expenses and payments.
  • Enter daily expenses, payments, account transfers, and FX (Foreign currency) operations.
  • Complete entries into the accounting system (Quick Books).
  • Check and review monthly payroll, time sheets, salary slips and their entries.
  • Prepare, print, archive and complete all entries related to the monthly cost allocation.
  • Prepare, check, print, sign, archive and complete all entries related to monthly banks reconciliation.
  • Prepare, print, sign, send, archive monthly financial reports and ensure all their supporting documents are prepared, completed, and archived.
  • Complete monthly projection and payment request from donors.

Required Qualifications (Education/Languages/Work Experience):

Essential

  • BA in Accounting.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Advanced skills in the English language.

Desirable

  • Intermediate skills in the Turkish language
  • Experience in humanitarian work and principles.
  • Verified experience in humanitarian work and principles.
  • Verified experience in dealing with donor’s policies, procedures, requirements, and compliance.
