Senior Financial Accountant At Amnesty International

JOB PURPOSE:

Support the Financial Accounting Manager in the delivery of the Global Annual Accounts and Statutory Audit, in establishing effective Balance Sheet management and maintaining an accurate Balance Sheet for the UK based entities of the IS. Produce internal management analysis and forecast and statutory financial reporting for the Charitable subsidiary.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have proven experience of leading organisational change and applying good practice in financial controls, preferably in an international environment. With the ability to build trust and collaboration with colleagues at all levels internationally.

In this role you will be providing critical support to the Financial Accounting Manager, demonstrating that you are a team player who can manage your own workload, prioritise effectively, and achieve multiple tasks within tight timelines.

You will be ACA (or equivalent) qualified with a strong technical background and an eye for detail, you will also be ready to take full advantage of the range of opportunities to put your excellent relationship skills and technical knowledge into practice.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Statutory Reporting

  • Support in the production of the annual financial statements for the Group
  • Co-ordinate the completion of the year-end process for the IS London office

Management Accounts and Payroll

  • Review the monthly payroll reports; investigate any variances and verify calculations
  • Assist in the review and posting of the monthly payroll journals to the Finance system

Systems support and development

  • Support in the delivery of the new finance system implementation project through the production of testing and training materials; perform UAT as directed by the project management team

Balance Sheet

  • Maintain an accurate Balance Sheet for the IS London; ensure regular reconciliations are performed and reviewed

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications

  • A qualified account (ACA, ACCA, CCAB, or equivalent qualified)

Work Experience

  • Strong financial accounting and control experience
  • External and/or internal audit experience (desirable)
  • Experience in preparation of statutory accounts (preferred)
