Amref Health Africa UK (Amref UK) is one of a nine offices in Europe and North America that are primarily responsible for raising the organisation’s profile, brokering partnerships, and mobilising funds to support our core programmatic themes in Africa. Maternal, New-born and Child Health; Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights; Water, Sanitation and Hygiene; and training of health workers.
About this role
The UK Government (Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office – FCDO) has a vision of a world free from Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) by 2030, in line with the SDGs. A programme has been established entitled ‘Support to the Africa- led movement (ALM) to end FGM/C’ to contribute to global efforts to achieve that vision.
Amref Health Africa is delivering an ambitious outreach workplan in Kenya, Senegal and at regional and global levels. As part of the management and coordination of the programme, Amref UK is engaging an experienced Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Consultant to work with the Senior Programme Lead and country-based MEL officers to coordinate and lead the implementation, and where needed to strengthen, of the programme’s MEL plan so that it will produce evidence that will both support programme adaptation and show progress against the Results Framework and key learning and evaluation questions.
This is a 2-day per week, fixed-term consulting role until 31 March 2024 (with potential for extension) and will be predominantly home-based with some working from our London (Borough office) and potential travel to Africa.
