Senior Office and Administrative Assistant At Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a Senior Office and Administrative Assistant to provide an effective and comprehensive service to the Head of Office and employees of GAIN Netherlands.

This is a part-time role offered at 32 hours a week and is initially offered on a 2 years’ fixed term contract, with the intention to extend thereafter, subject to funding.

About GAIN

GAIN is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people. In particular, we aim to make healthier food choices more desirable, more available, and more affordable. GAIN’s mission is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially those most vulnerable to malnutrition.

About the role

The Senior Office and Administrative Assistant will support the Head of Office and the rest of the team with operational, accounting, HR and general admin tasks.

Role specifics include;

  • Supporting with day-to-day operational tasks such as office and facilities management, managing travel and event logistics
  • Supporting with staff with IT equipment set up, working closely with the managed service provider and IT team
  • Process PO’s, invoices, bank payments and monthly accounts working closely with the London finance team
  • Manage the GAIN NL office budget; monitor expenditures, support quarterly budget forecasts
  • Support the Head of Office with the annual financial statement process
  • Supporting with relevant HR and adminstration tasks such as onboarding, keeping up to date with Dutch labour law and share updates with global HR team
  • Support the GAIN NL staff with contracts (e-contracting, signatures)

About you

You must be a self-starter with proven experience of working as an assistant in a similar office support/ administrative role, ideally with an NGO or within the private sector.

You’ll be an effective communicator and you will have the ability to successfully manage interactions with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. With a proactive commitment to quality and accuracy with close attention to detail, you will have basic finance and accounting skills with entry level experience with budgets and payment processes in online systems. Experience supporting with HR administration tasks will also be beneficial.

Applicants must have the existing right to live and work in the Netherlands and must be fluent in English and Dutch, both written and oral. Applicants will ideally be available to start by end of April 2022.
