Senior Program and Operations Coordinator At International Rescue Committee

The IRC leads the humanitarian field by implementing high-impact, cost-effective programs for people affected by crisis and by using our learning and experience to craft policy and practice. To achieve that vision, the Technical Excellence Unit provides technical assistance to country program staff and shares what we learn to influence global health.

The senior program coordinator will manage the grants and operations team for a large multi-country immunization project, supporting the project director to ensure program performance through monitoring of activity progress, financial status, and contract compliance.

Specific Responsibilities:

Monitoring and Learning

• Ensure that the MEAL coordinator is assessing and documenting progress and learning from the project

• Accountability for donor reporting

Administrative and Financial systems

• Overall management of project operations including finance and administration

Contract compliance and partnership management

• Understand the donor’s terms and conditions for project execution and ensure systems are in place to adhere to them

• Oversee due diligence and contracting process for partners

• Ensure partners have appropriate operational support and capacity sharing

Job Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree, preferably in administration/management/finance.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

• Demonstrated expertise in project and/or operations management, with specific expertise in either finance or contract management with multiple partners

• Experience producing donor reports in a timely manner

• Able to work with remote, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams

• Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills and ability to facilitate teamwork

• Ability to transfer technical knowledge and skills.

• Excellent organizational skills

Language Skills: Fluency in English required;

Working Environment: Up to 35% travel may be required. This position will be based in Nairobi.
