The senior project manager is responsible for the execution of projects executed by different local partners in different parts of the country, including monitoring programmatic, financial management, of human resources and logistics. His work focuses on strengthening the capacities of the local partner through accompaniment, joint work and the implementation of the strategy defined with the counterparty.

This profile is key in the implementation and strategy of Action Against Hunger in Venezuela and the growth of both the mission and the counterpart. For this reason, it contributes and feeds the organization’s reflection on location (development of lessons learned).

The main activities you will carry out are the following:

  • OBJECTIVE 1: Implementation of contracts (leadership), therefore, carries out the following tasks: -works directly with the counterparty to ensure the proper execution of project activities (activities, schedule); -ensures supervision of financial execution (follow-up of the BFU and purchasing plan); -ensures good information about the scope (monitoring plan); -identifies training and technical support needs (TECs, M&E, FIN, LOG, HR) -consolidates information for internal reporting and donors; participate in the lessons learned. -ensures the correct application of ACH procedures and, when applicable, from the donor
  • OBJECTIVE 2: Contract planning, carried out the following assignments: -in coordination with the partners and the coordination team, actively participates in the planning of contracts that are part of the projects under its responsibility (times = schedule; scope = logical framework; resources = budget, logistics planning / monitoring, equipment); -prepare with the counterparty the tools for monitoring the contract / program (BFU, APR, Purchase Plan, Monitoring Plan); -elaborates the first draft of the corresponding MoU
  • OBJECTIVE 3: Identification and writing of the new proposals ( participation ), performing the following actions: -identifies opportunities / weaknesses, -provides relevant information to DPA and Technical Coordinators on the counterpart and context ( alliances, risks, etc. )
  • OBJECTIVE 4: Strategic contribution: performs the following tasks: -participates in the identification of mission needs and opportunities-participates in the definition of the mission’s programmatic priorities based on its knowledge of capabilities/potential of the local partner – contributes and feeds the organization’s reflection on location ( development of lessons learned )
  • COMMON GOALS AND COMMON COMMITMENTS TO ALL WORKERS WITH INTERNAL POLICIES OF ACTION AGAINST HUNGER

Does this description fit with you?

-University training, with specific preparation in project cycle management

-Extensive experience in project management with an NGO:

  • Knowledge of the guidelines and procedures of the main humanitarian donors.
  • Solid knowledge of project cycle management
  • Excellent report and report writing ability
  • Excellent budget building capacity and BFUs
  • Strong experience in creating knowledge and training

-Minimum experience of 5 years in a similar position. (Desired a focus on NFI distribution)

-Spanish, French and advanced English (essential)

-Windows domain, essential advanced Excel handling.

-Availability to reside in the Amazon State and high geographic mobility in the country.

  • Compensation package: benefits covered by the organization according to the compensation policy of Action Against Hunger

    2. Two (2) trips for Breaks (R&R) per year according to the established reference area.
    3. Per Diem of 215 euros for each Break trip (paid in Mission).
    4. House -Guest house- shared.
    5. Ticket back to country of origin.
    6. Holidays
  • Continuous training in technical areas.
