Chemonics seeks various senior technical and program management positions for the anticipated $25-50 million USAID-funded Kilimo Tija activity. The project, currently anticipated to begin mid-2022, is expected to increase the competitiveness and inclusiveness of horticulture market systems. Incorporating a holistic approach to poverty reduction, Kilimo Tija is also expected to engage women and youth in new market roles, while improving the nutritional status of Tanzanians altogether. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. In addition, we are seeking candidates with a willingness to work in Dar es Salaam as well as Morogoro, Iringa, Mbeya, Songwe, and Zanzibar.
Senior Technical Positions: Market Systems Director; Policy & Enabling Environment Director
Qualifications
- Degree in agriculture, economics, public policy, or other relevant field required, advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of seven years of professional experience in area of expertise
- Experience working in Tanzania
- Experience working on international donor-funded projects. Recent experience working on USAID-funded agricultural development, nutrition, and/or food security programs highly preferred
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with government officials, international donors, and private sector stakeholders
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Fluency in written and spoken English required
Senior Project Management Positions:Collaborative Learning and Adaptation Director
Qualifications
- Degree in economics, data analytics, statistics, agriculture, or other relevant field required, advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of seven years of relevant experience; experience on large, complex, donor-funded projects preferred
- Experience with USAID programming, regulations and reporting requirements
- Demonstrated experience in supervisory positions
- Experience working in Tanzania
- Demonstrated experience developing and overseeing a comprehensive monitoring, evaluation, and learning strategy, adapting frameworks and approaches when necessary
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with government officials, international donors, and private sector stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience applying collaborative learning and adaptation approaches to agricultural development or market systems projects, preferred
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Fluency in written and spoken English required
