Senior Technical Specialist At Chemonics

Chemonics seeks technical experts for the anticipated USAID Advancing Commerce, Connectivity, and Exports Leading to Economic Readiness for Accession to the EU (ACCELERATE) Activity. The purpose of the ACCELERATE Activity is to support the advancement of European Union (EU) market integration and accession for focus countries in the Europe & Eurasia region. ACCELERATE will include partners and implement activities in the majority of the following countries: Albania, Serbia, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Georgia, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, and Montenegro. Activities may also include partners from Belarus. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Areas of technical expertise needed:

  • Trade facilitation;
  • Customs harmonization;
  • eCommerce and trade digitalization;
  • Financial product development;
  • Innovative finance (venture, equity, angel);
  • Fintech;
  • Policy harmonization with EU;
  • Meeting EU standards and requirements in the economic space;
  • Use of digital tools to facilitate public engagement;
  • Investment transparency policy harmonization;
  • Research and development for transparency;
  • Investor risk reduction/engagement;
  • eGovernment platforms for increased transparency.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of professional experience implementing programming or providing technical input and advisory services in any of the above-mentioned technical areas.
  • Experience working on USAID or other international donor projects.
  • Experience working in the Europe & Eurasia region preferred.
  • Experience working within the private sector preferred.
  • University degree in business, economics, marketing, trade, or a related field.
  • Fluency in English required.
