Service provider – Terms of Reference – For Women’s rights in Jordanian labor law and ILO Conventions Trainer for The Project Women-Friendly Label – Phase 2

1- Introduction

ActionAid is a global justice Federation working to achieve social justice, gender equality, and poverty eradication with headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa, ActionAid is working all around the world with country programs, affiliates, and regional offices, Today, ActionAid is present in 48 countries.

ActionAid has been present in the Arab Region since the mid-2000s in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Tunisia.

AAAR work is mainly focusing on the following programme priorities:

  • Women’s Rights, building feminist leadership to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls.
  • Youth and Community-led humanitarian action, Strengthening preparedness and crisis response through women and youth leadership.
  • Fostering civic and political engagement and increasing the employability of young people, fostering young people’s agency to influence decision-makers and create opportunities.
  • Climate Justice, raising awareness on climate change, fostering youth participation in climate action.

2- Background Information on The Intervention

The ActionAid Arab region has initiated a project “Women-Friendly Label to prevent Violence Against Women and Girls and promote Women’s Economic Rights in Jordan”. The project aims to better understand the intersectionality of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and women’s economic rights (WER) and ensure that policies align with and support the personal experiences of women, with the key partners.

The project involves the creation of a Women Friendly Label that will recognize and promote businesses that uphold women’s rights and prevent violence against women and girls. This process will be community-based and take a gender-transformative approach, through the creation of a Women Core Group composed of Jordanian women from diverse backgrounds, who will be supported by experts to create, develop and systemize the Women-Friendly Label, in addition to producing a woman-friendly label that comprises a set of requirements and assures a safe environment for women. Furthermore, AAAR and its partner will work closely with companies to co-develop and test the Women Friendly Label.

In parallel, in purpose to attract the companies and to strengthen their accountability to be eligible for the Women Friendly Label, AAAR will build progressive companies’ capacities in accountability. First, AAAR will conduct Strategic Humanitarian Assessment and Participatory Empowerment (SHAPE) Assessment and develop a tailored development plan according to the results of the assessment. Additionally, AAAR will assist companies in expanding their knowledge base by creating an E-learning module comprising training sessions related to the Women Friendly Label. This initiative seeks to increase awareness among both female and male employees regarding GBV, decent work, women’s rights in the Jordanian labor law, the International Labor Organization, and the criteria for obtaining the Women-Friendly Label, among other relevant topics.

3- Scope of work.

Objective:

ActionAid Arab Region (AAAR) is in search of a Women’s rights in Jordanian labor law and ILO Conventions trainer to deliver training via videos in a Chroma studio. The primary objective is to develop and conduct a comprehensive Women’s rights in Jordanian labor law and ILO Conventions training program through video content in a Chroma studio for ActionAid Arab Region (AAAR). The training materials will be uploaded to the e-learning platform to enhance awareness and understanding of Women’s rights in Jordanian labor law and ILO Conventions among the target audience.

Responsibilities:

**1.**Content Development:

  • Design a detailed curriculum for the Women’s rights in Jordanian labor law and ILO Conventions training program, aligning it with AAAR’s objectives and requirements.
  • Develop engaging training modules covering key aspects of Women’s rights in Jordanian labor law and ILO Conventions.

2.Incorporate Interactive Elements:

  • Integrate interactive elements such as quizzes, discussions, and case studies to enhance participant engagement and understanding.

3.Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct thorough reviews and revisions to ensure the accuracy and relevance of the training content.
  • Address feedback and recommendations from AAAR to enhance the overall quality of the training materials.

4.Timely Delivery:

  • Adhere to the agreed-upon timeline for the development and delivery of the Decent Work and Women Friendly Label Criteria training program.

5.Collaboration:

  • Work closely with AAAR’s project team to understand specific requirements, organizational nuances, and any additional elements to be incorporated into the training.

6. Incorporate Inclusivity:

  • Ensure that the training content is inclusive, sensitive, and addresses diverse perspectives related to Women’s rights in Jordanian labor law and ILO Conventions.

4- Deliverables and Timeline:

The project is expected to be completed within 1st February 2024, with milestones and progress updates provided regularly. The deliverables required:

  • Detailed Women’s rights in Jordanian labor law and ILO Conventions training curriculum.
  • Script for each video module.
  • Training materials.
  • Interactive elements such as quizzes, discussions, and case studies

5- Budget:

The total estimate for the required tasks is 900 JOD (including taxes and any other applicable taxes), paid after receiving the deliverables.

6- Submission of Proposal.

Qualifications:

1. Relevant Experience:

– Demonstrated experience as a Women’s rights in Jordanian labor law and ILO Conventions trainer, with a track record of creating impactful training materials.

– Prior work on e-learning platforms and familiarity with video production in a studio environment.

2. Educational Qualifications:

– A degree or equivalent qualification in a field related to gender studies, human rights, social work, or a related discipline is preferred.

3. Understanding of Women’s rights in Jordanian labor law and ILO Conventions Issues:

– In-depth knowledge and understanding of Women’s rights in Jordanian labor law and ILO Conventions, Decent Work, gender equality, and related topics.
