About Ayuda en Acción:
Ayuda en Acción Foundation is a secular, non-partisan international non-governmental organisation (NGO) established in 1981 with a global commitment to fight against poverty, inequality, and exclusion. Its headquarters is in Madrid, Spain. The organisation operates in 20 countries within Africa, South and Central America and Europe (Spain, Portugal). In Mozambique, Ayuda en Acción has supported a range of humanitarian and development interventions through local and international partners since 1996; an independent country programme was established in 2016. Ayuda en Acción Ethiopia aspires to tackle poverty, inequalities and exclusion that perpetuate poverty. The organisation perceives women, men, girls, and boys as the centre of its efforts in the country, giving it an impetus to strengthen people’s and institutions’ capacities to meaningfully contribute to development and dignified life of all in Mozambique.
Objective:
Ayuda en Acción Mozambique invites competent and qualified candidates to apply for the vacant position of Project Finance Coordinator for its Programme Office in Pemba.
The objective of the Shelter/Wash Project Manager position is to ensure that the project is successfully implemented in accordance with the respective logical frameworks, budgets and timelines, as well as donor and AeA’s strategic frameworks and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure and/or lead the technical coordination of the project and lead the implementation team. Manage the project team, coordinate team members, plan weekly activities, update monitoring tools, collect and organize verification sources in close coordination with the MEAL team.
- Ensure the development and implementation of the project’s procurement plans. Coordinate and monitor orders in collaboration with the logistics team and suppliers to ensure the timely completion of the activities.
- Represent Ayuda en Acción in humanitarian coordination spaces, including Shelter cluster, Wash cluster and CCCM cluster at provincial and district level. Ensure the proper development and submission of reports and information required by different clusters (5w, stock report, HRP…).
- Ensure external coordination with partners, local administrations, and other stakeholders.
- Support and supervise budget execution to ensure consistency with the technical formulation together with the financial officer.
- Prepare periodic technical and financial reports of the projects, as well as ensure its follow-up, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Ensure compliance with external funders’ project proposal regulations and Ayuda en Acción’s internal regulations. Ensure the implementation of safety audits with a special focus on gender perspective to ensure the proper implementation of AeA’s activities.
- Study and implementation of innovation models with local construction, with a special focus on reducing environmental impact and the consumption of forestry resources.
- Conduct needs assessments for planning and project writing related to the area of work, along with participation in project formulation. Other activities required for the correct implementation of the project and activities of the organization.
Requisitos
Knowledge and experience:
- Architect, engineer, or technical engineer with a professional profile oriented to construction in local materials and wash interventions (or related sectors) with specialization studies and/or experience in international cooperation.
- At least 2 years of experience in management and implementation of development cooperation projects.
- At least 2 years of experience in humanitarian aid or related areas.
- Experience and knowledge of the NGO sector and International Organizations.
- Essential knowledge of Word, Excel and planning and budgeting programs.
Languages:
- Excellent verbal and written English and Portuguese
- High level of Spanish is a plus.
Geographical Mobility:
- Yes: National.
Desirable Trainings:
- Experience and knowledge in DRR and DRP program implementation.
- Experience working with local and resilience construction techniques.
- Experience in livelihoods programs.
- Knowledge of ArcGIS/QGIS

- Incorporation: January 2024
- Duration of contract: 6 months with possibility of extension
- Workday: 40 hours per week
- Work Centre: Pemba with frequent travel to programme areas
- Remuneration/Salary: in accordance with Ayuda en Acción’s remuneration policy.
