Background
The Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) is an International Organization with a multi-stakeholder global partnership of national governments, UN agencies and programmes, multilateral development banks and financing mechanisms, the private sector, and academic and knowledge institutions. It aims to address the challenges of building resilience into infrastructure systems and the development associated with it. CDRI continues to support countries to upgrade their systems for ensuring disaster and climate resilience of existing and future infrastructure. It seeks to rapidly expand the development of and retrofit resilient infrastructure to respond to the SDGs objectives of expanding universal access to basic services, enabling prosperity, and decent work. CDRI envisions enabling measurable reduction in infrastructure losses from disasters and extreme climate events.
This position is being advertised for a Short-Term Consultant (STC) – Graphic Designer and Video Editor for a Fixed Term Contract of six (6) months.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop graphics as per CDRI brand guidelines for web and print.
- Design documents, reports, brochures, branding material, newsletters, web-based pages, GIFs, booklets, graphics/infographics/artwork (for social media), image editing, interactive pdfs/infographics, cover page, and any other design material for CDRI.
- Prepare files for printing and co-ordinate with vendors for printing of the files.
- Create, curate and edit videos as per CDRI’s requirements.
- Re-work/Edit videos and graphics created by external agencies.
- Report to Lead Specialist – Media and Communications for delegation of work and priorities.
Competencies:
Essential:
- Minimum Three years of work experience in graphic design and video editing.
- Demonstrable skills in Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro.
- Ability to carry out basic animations in graphics.
- Applied knowledge in principles of design.
- A keen eye for aesthetics and details.
Desirable:
- Experience in graphic designing for disaster management, climate change or development sector is preferable.
- Skills in CorelDraw or any other video editing software is an asset.
- Be able to ideate and innovate.
Qualifications:
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in the relevant field of work.
