Siau Social Worker At Americares

The social worker (SIAU) will be in charge, among others, of the following functions:

  1. Guide people and their families on the health system’s care routes, promoting safe access to social protection systems, reducing barriers for individuals or communities to enjoy the services guaranteed by the state to MRPZ, in the territory in which Americares develops operations.
  2. Manage support and guidance mechanisms in a systematic individual, family or group manner, with respect to social problems that may affect the health-disease process with the objective of achieving treatment, rehabilitation and maintenance of the health of the MRPA population.
  3. Provide information about the disease, and guidelines to follow to address the external management of the problem,
  4. Guide and train the population on the use of institutional and community resources that can contribute to individuals achieving a better quality of life.
  5. Guide and strengthen the links that allow family unity and train its members to ensure health.
  6. Promote and monitor through orientation, regularization and insurance sessions of migrant individuals and families who meet the conditions to be affiliated with the SGSSS to date in the national territory.
  7. Promote the analysis of the situation by communities, in areas of settlement of the migrant population, for the incorporation of interventions that favor the corresponding approach and channeling, according to the guidelines of the local or national level.
  8. Collaborate in the training of volunteers and assistants to carry out health actions.
  9. Develop treatment plans in collaboration with the user and the interdisciplinary team to resolve the problems or deficiencies of the individual or family.
  10. Develop a monitoring and registration matrix for processes of identification, orientation, advice in defined populations (migrants, returned nationals, refugees and their families, as well as ethnic groups, among others) on the processes of regularization, affiliation or insurance, records and management of barriers to access to health services and social integration.
  11. Strengthen referral and counter-reference processes for health care for migrants (especially cases of people in an irregular situation), at the local or departmental level.
  12. Support in strengthening human capacities in team professionals, to adequately manage the care of the migrant population and promote social coexistence.
  13. Articulation of complementary services with other cooperation organizations present in the territory, for comprehensive care to beneficiaries.

RATINGS :

  • Professional in social work, with demonstrated and proven experience in the position, for three years.
  • Work experience with NGOs working on projects related to the public health sector and community health programs.
  • Experience and knowledge of the National Health System, with knowledge in the Administrative area, and Internal and External Customer Service.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum two years of experience related to community work
  • Two to three years of progressive operational experience in monitoring migrants, refugees, returnees and the host population in the process of orientation, advice, regularization and affiliation to the current Colombian health system.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Have the qualities of emotional intelligence, organization, communication, active listening, critical thinking, setting limits, advocacy and professionalism.
  • Ability to work as a team, as well as independently, based on results.,
  • Organization, Assertive Communication, Orientation to results and achievement.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel) and Outlook are essential. Experience with SharePoint and tableau – desirable.
  • Writing, analysis, typing and information systematization skills.
