DESCRIPTION OF THE ASSOCIATION

La Chaîne de l’Espoir is an international NGO founded in 1994. Its mission is to strengthen health systems to give everyone, and especially children, the same chances of survival and development.

We operate in 27 countries with a global approach, focused on children but also on mothers and disadvantaged communities:

  • Prevention and screening from a very early age, particularly within the framework of school health programmes.
  • Care and surgery, to meet the most urgent needs of children and their mothers.
  • Training and skills transfer to local teams thanks to our international network of experts in all areas of surgery.
  • Construction and equipment of hospital structures adapted to local needs.

POSITION AND MISSION

Reporting to the head of the purchasing and logistics department and within the field logistics department composed of two representatives, this position provides support and supervision to employees in charge of purchasing and logistics in the countries where La Chaîne de l’Espoir operates. The field logistics representative helps to increase the effectiveness of the association’s actions and support the structuring of country offices.

The scope of the field logistics representative includes the following missions:

  1. Optimizing the efficiency of the logistics structure in the field
  2. Supervise the management of purchases in the field
  3. Support and supervise purchasing and logistics teams in the field, and strengthen their skills.
  4. Contribute to the structuring of La Chaîne de l’Espoir and represent it with partners and suppliers in its area of ​​expertise.

FORMATIONS ET EXPERIENCES

Education: With a minimum of a BAC+2 higher education, you have several successful experiences in the field in humanitarian logistician/humanitarian logistics coordinator positions. Experience at headquarters would be a plus.
Experience: between 3 and 5 years of experience in a similar position

COMPETENCES

  • Solid knowledge in the different areas of humanitarian logistics (purchasing, freight, vehicle fleet management, stock, equipment, security, technical).
  • Good knowledge of project management and international donors
  • Sense of autonomy, rigor, organization and priority management.
  • Great sense of pedagogy and intercultural relations
  • Good writing and synthesis skills.
  • Strong interest in field operations and support.
  • Proficiency in common office tools.
  • Languages ​​spoken: French, English essential
  • Travel to intervention sites (2 to 3 missions per year).

CONDITIONS

  • 12-month fixed-term contract, executive status
  • Full-time position, based at the association’s headquarters in Paris, 75015
  • Desired start date: April 2025
  • Occasional travel to be expected
  • Mutual insurance covered at 80%
  • Meal vouchers worth €10.83 covered at 60%
  • Transport covered at 50%
  • Teleworking charter: 3 days/week or permanent with 4 days/month at headquarters if domiciled outside IDF
  • 23 days of annual RTT
  • Proposed salary: between €39,000 and €43,200 gross over 12 months depending on profile and experience
