Social Protection and Gender-Based Violence Trainer for the Kahane Project – Phase 4

- Introduction
ActionAid is a global justice Federation working to achieve social justice, gender equality, and poverty eradication with headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa, ActionAid is working all around the world with country programs, affiliates, and regional offices, Today, ActionAid is present in 48 countries. ActionAid has been present in the Arab Region since the mid-2000s in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Tunisia.
AAAR work is mainly focusing on the following programme priorities:
- Women’s Rights, building feminist leadership to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls.
- Youth and Community-led humanitarian action, Strengthening preparedness and crisis response through women and youth leadership.
- Fostering civic and political engagement and increasing the employability of young people, fostering young people’s agency to influence decision-makers and create opportunities.
- Climate Justice, raising awareness on climate change, fostering youth participation in climate action.
The project “Enhancing Wellbeing and Integration of Women in Refugee Communities in Jordan, Using Technology – Phase 4” focuses on improving the lives of women in refugee communities by leveraging technology to address their unique challenges. This initiative aims to enhance the psychosocial wellbeing, social integration, and economic empowerment of women refugees in Jordan while promoting their inclusion in host communities. A key component of this project is its emphasis on social protection and addressing gender-based violence (GBV). In this phase, the project seeks to expand its impact by targeting ActionAid Arab Region staff and recruited volunteers from various parts of Jordan, ensuring a localized and inclusive approach. The project builds on previous phases by incorporating lessons learned and scaling up efforts to foster resilience and integration through innovative technological solutions.
3. Scope of Work
Objective:
ActionAid Arab Region (AAAR) is seeking a Social Protection and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) trainer to create and deliver training. The primary objective is to develop comprehensive training resources that align with the goals of the project “Enhancing Wellbeing and Integration of Women in Refugee Communities in Jordan, Using Technology – Phase 4.”This training will focus on equipping participants with the skills and knowledge needed to create and implement effective strategies for organizational growth, social impact, and inclusivity, while addressing social protection measures and GBV.
The Social Protection and GBV training aim to provide participants with tools to:
– Develop innovative strategies that integrate gender-sensitive approaches, ensuring equal opportunities for women and girls in workplaces.
– Foster safe and inclusive working environments free from discrimination, harassment, or violence.
– Promote a culture of respect and empowerment for all employees, particularly focusing on marginalized groups, including women refugees.
This training will support participants in rethinking current approaches to social protection and addressing GBV. It will include activities designed to enable participants to:
– Reflect on existing institutional strategies and practices related to social protection and GBV.
– Incorporate best practices from local and regional experiences in addressing GBV and promoting gender-sensitive policies.
– Develop actionable implementation plans featuring concrete activities that align with organizational goals.
– Strengthen their capacity to create inclusive environments that prioritize the safety and wellbeing of women and girls.
The training will specifically target approximately 30 participants from ActionAid Arab Region employees and recruited volunteers from Amman, ensuring that the content is inclusive and tailored to the needs of those working directly with women refugees. By addressing social protection measures and GBV prevention, this initiative aims to enhance the wellbeing of women in refugee communities while fostering their integration into host communities.
- Responsibilities:
1. Content Development:
– Design a comprehensive curriculum for the business development and strategic planning training program, ensuring alignment with the goals of the project “Enhancing Wellbeing and Integration of Women in Refugee Communities in Jordan, Using Technology – Phase 4.”
– Develop engaging and informative training modules that address key aspects of social protection, gender-based violence (GBV), and inclusivity, incorporating relevant case studies and practical examples.
2. Incorporate Interactive Elements:
– Integrate interactive components such as quizzes, group discussions, and real-life scenarios to enhance participant engagement and understanding.
3. Quality Assurance:
– Conduct thorough reviews and revisions to ensure the training content is accurate, relevant, and impactful.
– Address feedback from ActionAid Arab Region (AAAR) to refine and improve the quality of the training materials.
4. Timely Delivery:
– Ensure adherence to the agreed-upon timeline for developing and delivering the training program, which will target approximately 30 participants per session, including AAAR employees and recruited volunteers from Amman.
5. Collaboration:
– Work closely with AAAR’s project team to understand specific requirements, organizational priorities, and any additional elements that need to be incorporated into the training materials.
6. Inclusivity and Sensitivity:
– Ensure that all training content is inclusive, culturally sensitive, and addresses diverse perspectives related to business development, strategic planning, social protection, and GBV prevention.
Deliverables and Timeline:
The project is expected to be completed by February 21, 2025, with regular milestones and progress updates provided throughout the duration. The required deliverables include:
– A comprehensive business development and strategic planning training curriculum.
– Training materials (to be printed by ActionAid Arab Region).
– Interactive elements such as quizzes, discussions, and case studies.
– Pre- and post-training assessments to evaluate participant knowledge and skills before and after the training sessions.
- Budget:
The total estimate for the required tasks is 1000 JOD (including taxes and any other applicable taxes), paid after receiving the deliverables.
6. Submission of Proposal
Qualifications:
1. Relevant Experience:
– Proven experience as a business development and strategic planning trainer, with a strong track record of developing impactful training materials.
– Prior experience working on e-learning platforms and familiarity with video production in a studio environment.
2. Educational Qualifications:
– A degree or equivalent qualification in a field related to gender studies, human rights, social work, or a related discipline is preferred.
3. Understanding of GBV Issues:
– In-depth knowledge and understanding of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) issues, gender equality, and related topics.
